Principal Headliner, December 2017
At this writing, it is the day of the Feast of St. Nicholas,
December 6. This morning brought the sounds of surprise and
delight, for the children found a gift in their shoes from St. Nicho-
las’ special messengers… their teachers. Happy Feast of St. Nicho-
las, children…enjoy your treats. This is why I serve in the Catholic school…THIS IS WHY! We send
up our prayers in adoration, in contrition, with our petitions, and
in Thanksgiving for all of our answered prayers and many bless-
ings. We light our Advent wreaths; we pray for the intercession of
Mary, the Mother of God; we understand, to the youngest child…
that we have been given gifts by God and live to use our gifts for
His Glory. We are community and uniquely “family” in our clas-
ses, our Faith Families, our sports teams, in chorus and as we ring
our hand bells and chimes, and with hands risen in prayer at
Mass. We, teachers, instructional aides, staff, children, volunteers,
and priests…laugh together, explore and question together, learn
together, pray together, and celebrate our love of God and the joy
in waiting in this Advent time as we anticipate the coming of the
Christ Child on Christmas Day. I, myself, take JOY seeing these
moments and many more here unnamed, every day. Thank you,
God, for these blessings, to serve here at St. Rose School and to be
among these children each day, each year…
Christmas Eve Benediction
May you be filled with the wonder of Mary, the obedience of Jo-
seph, the joy of the angels, the eagerness of the shepherds, the
determination of the magi, and the peace of the Christ Child,
Almighty God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit bless you now and
forever. …Amen…

St. Rose School Monthly Messenger - We Exist To Bring The Catholic Faith To Life -
From Ms. Smoley’s Desk:
Many thanks to all the parents who volunteer weekly to help with morning loop, yard duty for students during lunch recess, library hours, assisting in the classrooms, and coaching all of our sports teams. We are truly blessed by the generosity of so many parents’ time - this is what makes us a community.
The “lost & found” cart will be emptied prior to
Christmas break and any left behind items will be donat-ed to the Parent Guild Used Uniform collection for resale. If your child/ren are missing uniform items you may want to check out the cart before the items find a new home.
Thank you.
Special thanks to our families for supporting the Turkey Fund Drive. The Turkey Fund Drive was a great success. Thanks to you, we collected $1,023.33, enough for many turkeys due to your amazing generosity!!! Turkeys will be purchased for the Christmas Baskets. Thank you to Mrs. Dickey for organizing this worthy cause!
~~~~~~ Our next student service project, the Christmas Adopt-A-Family Program is held Dec. 4 - Dec. 20. Each class has been given two families to adopt for Christmas. The classes have been divided into two groups, A – L and M—Z (flyer attached). Please bring an unwrapped gift to your child’s classroom. As always thank you for your generosity, as we serve our Lord by serving others. Your generosity in this Christmas time is much appreciated!
