Adoration

Dear friends in the Lord, This weekend is our annual Women’s Retreat for Christ Renews His Parish. The team has been working tirelessly all year to prepare for this retreat and they are really excited to be able to offer a life

-changing encounter with Christ for the women of our community. Many of you have already attended one of these retreat weekends so you know that CRHP helps parishes grow spiritually and as a stronger community. You know that it is a personal and parish spiritual renewal process wherein we are able to witness to one another the amazing things God has done for us. Each retreat weekend is this opportunity to take a break from our busy lives, share our faith with others, and get to know God through His good works. One of the things that is really exciting is that Dynamic Catholic has taken on the Christ Renews His Parish retreat and is currently in the process of updating the materials and brainstorming ways to engage more people with the retreat. They have invited a number of parishes across the country to try out the new materials and then they will continue to evaluate it and refine it until it is ready to go out to all the parishes. Their hope is to help parishes invite people on the weekend and welcome them into the parish family so they are calling this updated version of CRHP, “Welcome”. Once these new materials are made available, we plan on reviewing it ourselves. If it is a significant update, then we are going to incorporate it into the way we welcome new members into our community and we will offer it as a retreat opportunity for anyone who has already been on a CRHP weekend. Please continue to pray for our ministry here at St. Teresa’s and I ask that you join me in praying for the women of our community who are currently encountering the Lord through this retreat experience. Faithfully yours in the Lord, Fr. Chris

Please Note Adoration will resume on Monday, March 19.

Stewardship Commission

Stewardship Report

God’s Hands in Action— St. Teresa’s Tithing As individuals we are called to be good and generous stewards with God’s manifold gifts. Tithing is the means whereby we have the opportunity to give thanks to God; with that in mind, the community of St. Teresa of Avila tithes $450 weekly. This week our tithing will be donated to the Diocese of Gary’s Catholic Relief Services campaign.

What’s Going on with the Students?

St. T's is having its annual Amazing Race! What is amazing race? It's a race around Valpo where competing teams of college students complete fun challenges. The winning team ultimately wins a cash prize and serious bragging rights. We are looking for drivers and homes to host challenges. This is an event that many college students look forward to every year, largely because of the fun they have with YOU, the community. The race takes place on Saturday, May 5th from 6-9pm. This is a great way to meet college students, get involved, and have a blast at the same time! Please email Katie Hamer at [email protected] if you are interested in helping by driving or hosting a challenge at your home.

The RCIA group will take a couple of weeks off as the students will be on spring break, but the preparations continue. We will be celebrating the second of three Scrutinies with our elect, Kameron, this Sunday at the 11am mass. As Kameron continues his

preparations for Baptism, please keep him and all of our candidates in your thoughts and prayers. God bless!
