Deepika gets candid about equation with RanbirRenewing your friendship with your ex can be quite a task. While some people don’t make the effort because they are wary of the repercussions, there are others who will tell you that it can’t be done at all.You will find a similar pattern in Bollywood too. Whether it’s Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor who broke up in 2007 or Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan, who parted ways in 2004, couples have preferred to avoid working together post their break-up. However, last year, Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor displayed maturity by agreeing to work together in Karan Johar’s Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani despite their much-publicised break-up.Ask Deepika how difficult it is to befriend your ex and she replies, “I didn’t plan the break-up, neither did I plan to become friends again. Every relationship has its own journey. Ranbir and I are friends today, but I’ll say it’s an individualistic decision. Some people can manage it and some cannot. I believe it is possible to be friends with your ex if you are ready to let go of the

past and stop wondering what went wrong.”According to Deepika, the biggest mistake people make post break-up, is of going back and analysing what led to it. “People keep asking themselves or their estranged partners, why did it happen? In our case, it’s been so long that we’ve both moved on. I’ve stopped questioning, and have accepted things the way they

are. I value the relationship Ranbir and I shared and what he brought to my life. If I have to move on, which I have, I have to stop asking questions.”So how does she deal with reports about them getting back? “There is nothing to deal with. I know ours is pure friendship and nothing else. What we have today is beautiful and I don’t want to spoil that.”

Saif Ali Khan hopes to do romantic films at 50He is in his 40s and will be seen in romantic-comedy Cocktail soon. Actor Saif Ali Khan says that he hopes do a romcom even when he is ten years older.Saif has tasted box office success and audience appreciation whenever he did a rom-com: Kal Ho Na Ho (2003), Hum Tum (2004), Salaam Namaste (2005), Love Aaj Kal (2009).“I hope I can do romantic films at the age of 50. There is no age for romance. If the story is nice and the character suits you then why not do it. It is not like you can do only action films at a certain age. As long as you look good doing the part, there should not be any problem,” Saif said in an interview. In Cocktail, he plays a flirt, opposite Diana Penty and Deepika Padukone. “When we were shooting for the film we had this as a working title, we had thought of giving some nice Hindi title later. But later we felt it was perfect because the movie is a ‘cocktail’ of different feelings and emotions. And I think everyone in India understands the meaning of cocktail. It goes well with the film,” Saif said.

Prabhu Deva gets Sonakshi drunk! The ace director and choreographer Prabhu Deva got Sonakshi Sinha apparently drunk on bhang while shooting the song Go Go Govinda in Akshay Kumar’s next home venture Oh My God, and that too without Sona’s knowledge.A reliable source from the film crew says, “Prabhu Deva is a perfectionist. He knew that Sonakshi needed to go completely crazy while shooting the dance number since it’s a Gokul Ashtami song. The song has such a mad vibe and Sonakshi was required to completely unleash herself.”The source adds, “Since

After Love Aaj Kal and Aarakshan, Saif and Deepika have teamed up for the third time. “It has always been fun to work with Deepika. She is a good artist and she is

improving with every film,” he said.Directed by Homi Adajania, the film will hit cinema houses on July 13.

Prabhu has worked with Sona in Rowdy Rathore, he very well knew that she doesn’t

drink. But their rapport is such that he made her drink bhang without her knowledge to get into the right mood. The entire crew drank bhang and told Sonakshi that it is thandai. It was only later when she got a bit tipsy that Sona found out that she had little bhang.”Did Sonakshi object when she found out? “Not at all. She shares a very good rapport with Parbhu Deva. She took it in a very sporting way. In fact she was glad that she had it because it helped her to dance freely.”Though Prabhu Deva was unavailable for comment but a source close to him confirmed the story.

concluded, “Our motto, Leading While Remembering serves as a foundation for our values as a City. We value and protect our historic villages; the veterans that made the supreme sacrifice; our seniors who mentor with knowledge and wisdom; and our youth who we nurture to help them achieve their dreams. We are Canada’s most diverse city. The AOPS will provide the Royal Canadian Navy with the flexibility to operate in Arctic and other offshore environments year-round, asserting and enforcing Canadian sovereignty, including domestic surveillance, search and rescue, and supporting other government departments.“We have entered into a long-term relationship with Irving Shipbuilding, and we are pleased to see the awarding of this contract. This is the first time that a channel in Pakistan will air a show together with Indian channels. The reality show, produced by Gajjendra Singh, showcases talent from India and Pakistan.A week ago, the deal between the Indian rival channels was sealed and announced. Initially, there were suggestions that the show would air on the Star network. However, that didn’t

While the channel, Colours, refuses to issue a statement yet, sources say it was Akshay who turned down the show, as wife Twinkle Khanna, who is pregnant with the couple’s second child, is due to deliver around the same time that the TV show goes on floors.Devgn, meanwhile, confirms having been approached. “Yes, I’m in talks to host Khatron Ke Khiladi. I would love to be a part of it if things work out,” he said on a visit to HT House on Wednesday. His last tryst with TV, as the judge of the 2008 dance reality show, Rock N Roll Family, along with wife Kajol and mother-in-law Tanuja, had got an average

response from the viewers.Akshay Kumar, 44, has been a constant factor with Khatron Ke Khiladi that sees 13

celebrity contestants perform deadly stunts. He hosted the first two seasons of the show and then returned for the fourth, after actor Priyanka Chopra, who replaced him in the third season, failed to leave an impact. The news comes at a time when riding high on the success of Rowdy Rathore, Akshay is once again being hailed as the original action star. Ex-contestants say that the show will lose its energy without Khiladi Kumar. “Akshay and Khatron Ke Khiladi are synonymous with each other. People love his style and energy as the host,” says actor Pooja Bedi, a contestant on season one. Actor Aashka Goradia, who was on season 4, adds, “There can’t be Khatron Ke Khiladi without Akshay. It’s incredible how he motivates contestants.” , too, are disappointed. Ishita Sharma, 25, says, “Akshay is a great host. He should not be replaced.” Amrit Bindra, a DU student says, “The show won’t

reality show auditioned for talent in three cities in Pakistan — Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad, shortlisting 10 contestants. They will compete against 10 singers scouted from Indian cities like Lucknow, Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi. The show is likely to go on air sometime in September-

October this year.Sur Kshetra features singer-

actor-composer Himesh Reshammiya as the captain of the Indian side and Pakistani pop star Atif Aslam as the captain of the Pakistani team. Singers Asha Bhosle and Abida Parveen will be part of the judging panel, along with veterans like Ghulam Ali, who will judge one of the episodes.

Actor Ayesha Takia Azmi, who vanished from the public eye after Wanted (2008), resurfaces as the show’s host. The show was shot in Dubai to avoid complications between nations that have always been

somewhat antagonistic to each other. According to sources, the finale is the only episode left to be shot. Apparently, it will be filmed in London after the show goes on air.Boney Kapoor, who was

instrumental in getting the show together for Sahara One, says, “There is a deal in place with Geo TV to air the show in Pakistan. We haven’t finalised a date, but it will be aired in India and Pakistan.”

Akshay Kumar offers to act in student’s filmHe studied martial arts in Bangkok and also has a black belt in Taekwondo. But not many know that Akshay Kumar, back in the ’90s, used to train Prateek, the grandson of his Deedar (1992) director Pramod Chakravorty, in martial arts. And now, the star is going all out to help his one-time studententer Bollywood with a bang.“When my grandfather signed him (Akshay) up for Deedar, he taught me martial arts. But later, he got busy with his film career and I stopped the training. But I have always shared a warm relationship with him,” says Prateek, who has written and directed From Sydney With Love under his family banner, Pramod Films.Prateek, who also stars in the film, says that “Akshay backing you serves as a huge confidence booster.” Apparently, the star — who launched the film’s music a few days ago — has also offered to do a cameo in the newbie’s film.“Akshay has promised to work with me in the future. So after From Sydney With Love, I will work on a script. I haven’t decided whether I will act in the next film or not. In my upcoming movie too, I decided to act only because

Shruti Haasan wants to perfect self firstTill date, she — surprisingly — hasn’t acted with her legendary father Kamal Haasan. And as Shruti shifts base to Mumbai, with a Bollywood career in mind, a film with her father isn’t on the cards anytime soon. The reason: she wants to build a solid career in films before teaming up with herfather.Although there have been a few offers that could have seen the young actor star in a film alongside her dad, she has always turned them down. “Shruti feels that if she acts in her father’s film, she would like him to treat her like another actor, and not his daughter. And she knows that the only way she would be able to do justice to her role is if she establishes herself first. Till then, she isn’t in a hurry to work with him,” says an insider close to Shruti.Although Shruti’s parents have always supported her, she has largely followed her own path with films like Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji (2011), 3 and Gabbar Singh. “That’s why she wants to prove her worth before sharing space with Mr Haasan. But there are signs of

it happening very soon,” says the insider. When contacted, Shruti says: “I’d love to work with my dad. But I want to perfect myself

first. I want him to treat me like any other actor and not be partial. That’s the only way I’ll be able to give my best.”

International Fashion Festival Toronto 2012

The event had all the makings of a Bollywood film except that it was not a movie but a well-orchestrated event with beautiful women, models, designers, hair and make up stylists, and the who’s who in attendance. The heat wave continued in Toronto from July 2-8 as the International Fashion Festival Toronto 2012 (IFFT) continued to make temperatures rise. Fashionistas, socialites, social climbers, models and model wannabes, photographers, industry heads and politicians, all jostled for their place in the line up to get into the hall for this stunning show. Several local and international designers revealed their creations at the International Convention Centre in Mississauga with the grand finale featuring the breathtaking creations of Indian fashionista extraordinaire Vikram Phadnis and Lebanese renowned designer Walid Atallah’s bridal collection.Walid Atallah made headlines all over the world with his $1.2 million bridal gown creation.

I asked this very handsome, modest and approachable designer if he had brought the world famous gown to showcase here in Toronto He laughed and replied “It would have been an impossible task with all the security needed and besides as you know it is sold!”His extensive bridal collection which displayed over 50 shades of white with scintillating Swarovski crystals and intricately beaded handicraft left the stars in the Toronto

skies looking a bit dimmer than usual on this hot summer evening. Swirls and yards and yards of white organza, chiffon and expensive Swiss tulle caused a traffic jam of trains as long veils collided while models exited the runaway!Vikram Phadnis, a frequent visitor of our city for the last 2 years, has fast become one of the favourite designers in the fashion circles of Toronto . Vikram with his trademark eye for meticulous detail, down to every last hair strand

anddupatta being pinned firmly into place, was the mainstay for not only the choreography but also served as the very backbone of the entire fashion

event. His collection displayed to the select audience manifested the true mark of a grand maestro; the splendour and grandeur of Indian design,

traditional embroidery and embellishments brought to life with images of royalty of days gone by, yet conveying a modern touch that becomes every woman’s dream. Audible gasps and shows of appreciation from the audience punctuated each model’s entry on the ramp. Vikram truly has made his mark here in Toronto ! Of course in true Bollywood style, the event, although extremely well organized, started and ended about 2 hours late.It was an evening jam packed with entertainment with performances by upcoming Bollywood playback singer Hamza Farukhi (Paisa Paisa from Apna Sapna Money Money, Maulah from Allah ke Bandey, to name just a few) who made the female hearts beat even faster as he included an amazing cover of Enrique Iglesias’ “Tonight I’m lovin’ you”. To add to the sizzle, Caribbean carnival dancers gyrated their bodies and performed gymastics that put to shame Jagger’s moves! This truly international fashion festival, including Q&A sessions, discussions, classes and workshops with top designers from all over the globe was as good as it gets.

CHARITY name of the game at TIGERFESTThough July 1 is Canada Day, the celebration in Brampton Ontario also included elements of India, Pakistan, Japan, New Zealand, and even the streets of Harlem, New York. Such is the concept of TigerFest 2012, the fundraiser put on by legendary wrestler, humanitarian and philanthropist Tiger Jeet Singh and his son wrestling superstar Tiger Ali Singh as part of the city’s festivities. A record shattering number of over 100,000 spectators attended this year’s Canada Day festivities put on by the City of Brampton, which was headlined by TigerFest, rock bands Marianas Trench and April Wine at Brampton’s all-day Canada Day party, held on the grounds at the PowerAde Centre entertainment complex. Though TigerFest was a free event, fans that made a donation, got to sit in the ringside area, where in addition to seeing the show close-up, would also get a chance to meet and greet some of the stars after the show. Proceeds from the event went to the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation, a non-profit Canadian registered charity and awareness was raised for Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health & Wellness. Before the matches, the several

thousand of fans seated at the ringside seats and bleachers, and the thousands watching from the hill beside the ringside area, were treated to Dhol and Bhangra by Dhol Circle and SGDP as well as musical performances from international recording artists like Prita Chhabra and Canadian pop star Kristina Maria, in a program emceed

by the Score’s Arda Ocal and ATN’s Angelie Sood. Later in the afternoon, the wrestling card featured WWE legends Tatanka, Bushwhacker Luke, Big Daddy V, Tiger Ali Singh, former ECW champion Steve Corino, TNA star Sonjay Dutt, and some of the best independent stars from Quebec and Toronto’s Squared Circle Wrestling promotion. Why is Salman Khan staying away from Hollywood? He was voted the seventh-best-looking man in the world and the best looking man in India by US’s People magazine in 2004 -- but Salman Khan has maintained his distance from Hollywood, and says he has his reasons. The Bollywood star unleashed his funny side when asked about the reason atan event organised by Indo-American Chamber Of Commerce (IACC) Wednesday.“All my friends who have gone to America, they don’t even want to come back for a holiday, wonder why. I am an actor, those guys were the ‘sensible’ ones, educated - engineers, doctors, scientists. These guys went there and made a lot of money, respect,” he said.“Me, I am giving Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, all these guys a chance. Otherwise...poor guys,” the 46-year-old said here in a humourous way.Salman also targeted Hollywood films. “Amazing movies, they make anything look good. Like for example the names I took, Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise. We just go on emotions and heart. We overdo anything, I mean guys like

us also look really bad,” said Salman. He wrapped up the response with his arch-rival, superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s famous dialogue from My Name Is Khan: “I mean my name is actually Khan and I actually am not a terrorist.”

Besides Salman, actress Nargis Fakhri was also present at the event, where Tata Consultancy Services was formally honoured as the overall best Indian Company operating in the US at the 8th Indo American Corporate Excellence Awards.

matches featuring several of the SCT stars, the attention turned to the main stage where several of the show’s presenting sponsors from Scotiabank, Royalpark, Best Buy Mobile Bramalea, Troy’s Diner and TigersChallenge.ca joined Brampton Mayor Susan Fennell, city councillor Vicky Dhillon, Member of Parliament Parm Gill and Lisa Raitt, Labour Minister and Member of Parliament for Halton Region, to present Tiger Jeet Singh and his son Tiger Ali Singh with their Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal certificates in recognition of their humanitarian work and philanthropy. Afterwards, when the Tigers posed for pictures in the ring to celebrate this honour, they were attacked by the dastardly trio of Corino, Big Daddy

V and Quebec’s silent giant Darkko. They ambushed both Tigers, beating them down with a Singapore Cane and other violent shots. The Tigers got their revenge in the main event, though, when Tiger Ali Singh teamed with Dutt and Tatanka while his father watched from ringside. The two teams fought it out in an elimination contest which ultimately saw Tiger Ali Singh down 2 to 1 against Corino and V. After doing the seemingly impossible and slamming the 500-pound V, Tiger Ali Singh pinned both men in succession to win the match. Afterwards, he and his father returned the favour, smashing Corino with the Singapore cane to the delight of the pro-Indian/Canadian crowd, after having their arms raised in victory by celebrated Japanese referee Peter Takahashi. “It was great,

mate,” said WWE Legend Bushwhacker Luke. “I enjoy coming up for TigerFest, it’s always a great cause. When you get on in life, you like to do these charity shows, because it lets you do something for people. You feel good to be able to give back. This is my third time coming to TigerFest, and I always enjoy it.” “TigerFest is a significant charity event in our City” said Mayor Fennell “and I am proud to see it as part of our exciting Canada Day celebrations.” As for the Tigers, they were positively thrilled with the outcome of the event. “To be able to do such charitable works, to help the community, and to be part of such a special day, that’s an honour for our entire family,” said Tiger Jeet Singh. “The bottom line is none of this would have been possible without the City of Brampton wanting to present TigerFest,” said Tiger Ali Singh. “My heartfelt gratitude goes out to Mayor Susan Fennell, the City, our sponsors, volunteers, and the staff in the Community Services Department who worked tirelessly to put on such an extravaganza!” Please visit www.tigerfest2012.com to learn more!

fans, with their pride in past gold medal performances accompanied by introspection about what has gone wrong since. The impressive record of winning eight gold medals -- six in succession starting from 1928 at Amsterdam -- still makes hockey the most productive sport for India in the Olympics. India has won 11 hockey medals in all, two more than the number won by India in all other sports combined. Indeed, India has won only one non-hockey gold in its history: Abhinav Bindra’s gold in rifle shooting at Beijing four years ago. But the country’s last hockey gold came at the boycott-marred Moscow Olympics in 1980, when the likes of Australia, Pakistan and the Netherlands were absent. That was an aberration that could not disguise the relative decline in Indian hockey since the introduction of artificial turf in the 1970s. India has failed to win another medal since, with power and stamina becoming more important than the artistic stick-work that had been effective on natural grass. So, when India arrives at the blue and pink turf of London after having missed the Beijing Games, the Bharat Chhetri-led team will carry more hope than expectation. They will also carry responsibility, knowing how important the Olympic showing is to the overall health of the sport. “They are very important because (field) hockey in India

is judged by performance at the Olympics,” former India captain Viren Resquinha said. “A good performance will not

only give a major boost to the game but get millions to play the game.” Noted hockey analyst K. Arumugam, who has written 14 books on the game, agreed. “Indian hockey survives because it has done so well in past Olympics,” Arumugam said. “Producing good results in the Olympics are important because of the glory they bring to the country.” Arumugam though does not see India making it to the semifinals. “It will be a good performance if they finish in the top six. To make the semifinals, you have to be among the top two in your group, which will be a gigantic task considering the other teams in our group: the Netherlands, Germany, South Korea, New Zealand and Belgium,” Arumugam said. “Others in our group have settled teams and coaching staff but we’ve just got a coach (Australian Michael Nobbs) one year ago, so that makes things a little difficult as well,” he added. Resquinha, who was a key member of the team that played at the Athens Olympics in 2004, is cautious about predicting a good performance but does feel India can prosper if they play a tight game. “There are never any easy groups in the Olympics. I feel the defence and short-corners will be the key. We’ve to create more short-corners to give our two world-class drag-flickers - Sandeep Singh and V.R.Raghunath - a chance to score. If the forwards also play well, they can create chances of scoring more field goals as

well.” Former India captain Dhanraj Pillay feels it will be very important to start well in the

tournament. “I’ve taken part in four Olympics and we invariably lost the opening game,” Pillay said at a function in Mumbai last week. “It’s crucial for the Indian team to win the first game (against the Netherlands on July 30) if they have to do well and hope to make the semifinals.” India, which made it to the Olympics by winning a qualifying tournament in New Delhi beating France 8-1 in the final, is on a tour of Europe where it is playing games against France, Spain and South Africa.

MOVIE TALK

Cocktail Movie Preview When 24-year-old Veronica (Deepika Padukone) and Meera (Diana Penty), 23, start living together during the summer in London, they have very different agendas. Meera is awkward, introvert and recovering from a hoax marriage to Kunal Ahuja (Randeep Hooda) who has duped her off her life-savings by using the pretense of setting up a base for them in London. She is spending her time under Veronica’s roof until she can get some footing and find a job in this foreign land. Veronica, on the other hand, is a wild-child, impulsive, constantly looking for distractions to escape facing issues of a troubled upbringing. Being poles apart brings the two close, forging a loyal and solid friendship.Soon Gautam, 32, (Saif Ali Khan) enters their lives, moves in with them and has a whirlwind relationship with Meera’s. Meera does love Gautam because his don’t-give-a-damn attitude reminds her of her husband who had conned her into coming to London in the first place. Both Gautam and Veronica believe in living for the moment and they honestly consider this a fling rather than a serious

relationship. But as three people living together they all have a blast… Though their intentions for each other don’t change, their friendship starts to grow strong. It becomes a

beautifully balanced friendship between three people.Cocktail is now playing at Albion and Woodside Cinemas and show times can be found @ www.albioncinemas.com .

After voluntary slashing of an additional three minutes and 10 seconds of “unsuitable” content, Vidya Balan-starrer ‘The Dirty Picture’ has been declared “appropriate” for prime time TV broadcast by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).In April, the information and broadcasting ministry had directed that the dark biopic on the tumultuous life of South Indian film siren Silk Smitha be telecast only in a late night slot after 11 pm, “when most guardians/parents are available to suitably guide their children/wards”. Balan had bagged the best actress award for her portrayal of Smitha. The ministry’s decision, which came on the order of the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad HC, raised the hackles of filmmakers. Following their protests, the ministry asked the CBFC to decide on the issue. The latest deletion is in addition to the 59 cuts made earlier, so the film could be eligible for the CBFC’s U/A rating. The government is set to introduce separate ratings for films that would be telecast on television. Detailed guidelines are expected soon.

Rajkumar Hirani is all set to take on the role of producer for Aamir Khan’s next Peekay. Vidhu Vinod Chopra is also

part of the film as a presenter, reports Mumbai Mirror. “Of course, Hirani will direct the film as well. And while VVC (as Vidhu is better known) will only be a presenter, it does not imply he won’t be involved with the film. Simply put, Peekay will release as: Presented by Vidhu Vinod Chopra Films,” a source close to the tabloid informs. However, there is no animosity between Vidhu and Hirani.“It’s a natural progression for Hirani. After 3 Idiots, he

was inclined to produce a film alone. He had harboured these intentions for quite some time, and now it is actually happening,” the source added.Wonder why Vidhu didn’t produce the film? The producer is reportedly busing with another project. “VVC doesn’t want to be involved in producing two films at the

same time. So, he sat down with Hirani last week and it was decided amicably that both Chithiyan and Peekay would go on floors this year itself. Aamir had already allotted dates to Hirani for Peekay. It would have been too long for Hirani to wait for the completion of Chithiyan,” explained the source.

Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, “Now, class, if I stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would turn red in the face.” The whole class affirmed it. Then the teacher asked, “Then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position, the blood doesn’t run into my feet?” A voice from the backbenchers came, “Because, your feet are not empty.”

LIFE STYLE & RECIPE

Yoga tips for irregular shift workers

Several professionals have a very demanding routine in terms of night shifts. Due to the altered ‘body clocks’ they end up suffering from several health disorders.Such kinds of jobs are on the rise with a continuous emphasis on increasing productivity and lowering costs. Most common examples are call center workers, specially those that are serving clients half-way across the globe. The two most common disorders related to this are Sleeplessness and ConstipationSleeplessness or InsomniaThis is one of the most common complaints and not surprisingly so. Sleeping during the day is difficult and the general noise and distraction level is high.It is well known that continuous use of sleeping pills may be detrimental to health. Also, the body

develops a progressive resistance to them. Therefore, they should be avoided.A yoga technique that can be of very great use is the technique of ‘Yoga Nidra’ or psychic sleep. When practiced correctly, this method produces such deep relaxation that one hour of yoga nidra is equivalent to 4 hours of deep sleep. This technique can be learned from a yoga teacher or even from a book or tape. To read more on yoga nidra, click here.ConstipationAlthough this is a universal problem, it is more common among shift workers. After midnight, the automatic regulation of metabolic processes has an effect of slowing down the heart rate and the blood circulation. In a person on night-shift, as he sits upright, the blood accumulates around the pelvis, lower abdomen and legs. This causes the blood

vessels around the colon to dilate, thereby constricting the passage and resulting in constipation. Prolonged effect of this condition can result in piles. The yoga solution for this problem is a position called ‘Sarvangasana’. This is an inverted position in which the legs are slowly raised up while lying down. In the final position, only the head and neck rests on the floor while the entire torso and legs lie vertical to the ground in the inverted position. This position helps the accumulated blood in the lower abdomen and legs to move towards the lungs. This helps in the oxygenation of impure blood and the normalization of the colon.Five minutes of Sarvangasana should be sufficient to counteract the problem of blood stagnation in the lower part o the body.

Minissha reunites with Vicky Donor director? They last worked together in Yahaan. And interestingly, the 2005 film also marked the debuts of both actor Minissha Lamba and director Shoojit Sircar. Seven years later, if things go well, Minissha will team up again with her first director after he wraps up his next political-thriller, Jaffna.“We have been talking about working together again after Jaffna. I hope everything works out as per plan,” says Minissha about the Vicky Donor director. “It’s great to see Shoojit getting the appreciation he deserves. Yahaan and Vicky Donor are completely different films. I only hope that he doesn’t take seven years to make another film,” she adds. For the time being, Minissha is caught up with Joker which stars Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha. Shirish Kunder’s film was supposed to be released in a 3D format but the filmmakers have now changed their mind. “I was excited about doing my first 3D film, but honestly, I feel 2D films look more colourful,” she says.So what does she feel about the Joker

release date being constantly changed? “Even I don’t know why it keeps changing,” laughs the actor, who plays a TV journalist in the film. “But it’s being done for the right reasons, so that everyone’s films do well without a clash.”

After Joker, Minissha will be seen in the Sanjay Dutt-Vivek Oberoi starrer, Zilla Ghaziabad. “I usually end up playing soft characters. This time too, I’m playing a village girl, but she’s sensuous and sexy, not a sweet belle.”

I’d be heart-broken if I’m not in Rock On!! 2 : Prachi DesaiRecently, Prachi Desai was on Jhalak Dikhhlaa Jaa 5 promoting her latest film, Bol Bachchan, in which she plays Ajay Devgn’s educated, younger sister and is the cause of some of the golmaal (chaos) in the film. The actor had won the dance reality show in 2007 and says that she was wondering whyno one remembered that. “Abhishek (Bachchan) with whom I’d just shot my first filmi dance, ‘Nach le’ in Bol Bachchan, was completely taken by surprise,” she laughs. What even fewer people know is that the ‘desi’ version of Dancing With The Stars got Prachi her first film offer, Rock On!! (2008). “I didn’t take the first calls seriously, it seemed impossible that someone wanted to cast me as a heroine. I was barely 17 and didn’t come from a film background,” she reminisces. “The casting director had spotted me on Jhalak…, which had brought out a different side to me from my character Bani in the TV soap Kasamh Se, that made them think I was apt for the role of Saakshi.” After a random first meeting with

director Abhishek Kapoor, she was given two-three pages of dialogue for an audition with Farhan.“Being on TV, I was used to long dialogue. I casually went over my lines and rattled them off perfectly, breezing past all the other aspirants,” she smiles, adding that after she won Jhalak Dikhhlaa Jaa the first call was from her proud Rock On!! director. “The film changed the course of my

career!”Prachi hopes to be back in the sequel. “I won’t hold it against them, but I’d be heart-broken if they took someone else for Rock On!! 2. The thought gives me the jitters. I’ve been reading about it in the newspapers, one day soon, I’ll pick up the phone and remind Farhan that Saakshi is still around. Recently, we did a commercial together for a water purifier and our ‘jodi’ (pairing) still rocks!”
