01:00:10:05 CARTER: It's a report from the Tok'ra. They've discovered a gravitational

disturbance with their long-range sensors.

01:00:16:14 CARTER: Well, it could simply be a yet-undiscovered black hole, but the Tok'ra

won't have a ship in range for some time. I've located a planet with a

stargate close to the disturbance. If you'll permit me to take a--

01:00:35:29 HARRIMAN (O/S): Unscheduled off-world activation.

01:00:39:06 HARRIMAN: I'm receiving an iris code, Sir.

01:00:40:22 HARRIMAN (CONT'D): It's Colonel Carter.

01:00:53:22 CARTER: Actually, Sir, I think there was a little glitch. We were on the wrong

planet, Sir.

01:01:11:19 CARTER (CONT'D): We got sent to a different planet.

01:01:15:02 HARRIMAN: I'm reviewing gate diagnostics, Sir.

01:01:19:20 CARTER: If it is a gate malfunction, it's a pretty big one, unlike any we've seen

before.

before anyone else walks through it.

01:02:16:00 CARTER (V/O): Run the cross-comparison program.

01:02:17:21 DANIEL: Hey. How's it going?

01:02:19:24 CARTER: Well, as far as our computer is concerned...

01:02:22:01 CARTER (CONT'D O/S): The dialing sequence to P3X-584 ran perfectly

normal.

01:02:24:25 DANIEL: Except for the fact you ended up 12,000 light years off-course.

01:02:30:07 HARRIMAN: Oh, here's something.

01:02:36:23 CARTER (O/S): Huh. Maybe it wasn't our fault.

01:02:39:16 DANIEL: I thought it was always our fault.

01:02:41:19 CARTER: We just ran a program that compares the energy signatures of the

last 30 outbound trips to look for anomalies.

01:02:46:29 HARRIMAN (O/S): It's kind of like a...

01:02:48:17 HARRIMAN (CONT'D): Bump.


01:02:49:21 DANIEL: A bump?

01:02:53:15 CARTER (O/S): Actually, more like a series of bumps...

01:02:54:27 CARTER (CONT'D): Exactly 8.5...

01:02:56:15 CARTER (CONT'D O/S): Seconds apart.

the galaxy.


01:03:21:21 CARTER (O/S): Well, I have a theory about that too.

01:03:23:24 CARTER (CONT'D): Instead of using an iris like we do, the off-world gate

stores incoming data in its buffer system.

01:03:28:29 CARTER (CONT'D O/S): Then, if the correct code isn't received...

01:03:30:19 CARTER (CONT'D): It dials a random address and empties the buffer into the

new wormhole.

01:03:34:16 MITCHELL: Interstellar call forwarding. That's pretty...

01:03:36:23 MITCHELL (CONT'D O/S): Cool.

01:03:37:23 DANIEL (O/S): How did the MALP get through to 584?

01:03:39:01 DANIEL (CONT'D): I mean, initial telemetry confirmed it was on...

01:03:42:02 CARTER: My guess is the 584 security system filters incoming matter based on

certain protocol-- organic versus inanimate, for instance.

01:03:52:09 CARTER (CONT'D): As to what's being hidden there.

01:03:53:29 MITCHELL: You always want what you can't have.

01:03:55:16 CARTER: I've calculated it will take the Prometheus two weeks to reach 584 at

maximum speed.

01:04:00:26 TEAL'C (O/S): If the Ori are constructing...

01:04:29:22 HARRIMAN: MALP is en route.

01:04:31:19 CARTER: We've placed a bacterial culture inside the MALP's cargo

compartment. Hopefully, the organic material will force the 584 gate to

hold the MALP and ask for an authorization code.

01:04:42:23 HARRIMAN: I'm receiving the gate's authorization request.

01:04:45:01 CARTER: Now we just hope this program works.

01:04:47:10 LANDRY: Mm.

01:04:51:18 LANDRY (CONT’D): What does that mean?

01:04:53:01 CARTER: I think it was good.

01:04:54:21 HARRIMAN: The MALP is coming online.

01:05:23:03 CARTER: Well, we'll have to wait till nightfall to get a visual confirmation of the

black hole. In the meantime, Major, you can set up the gravity

sensors. I'll make sure we can dial home.

01:05:37:15 MITCHELL: SGC, this is SG1 leader. We have arrived safely.

01:05:40:06 LANDRY (V/O OVER RADIO): Thank you, Colonel. We'll dial…

01:05:41:17 LANDRY (V/O CONT’D): Again in 15 minutes. Prometheus is standing by.

01:05:44:21 MITCHELL: Hopefully that won't be necessary, Sir. Mitchell out.

01:05:49:28 MITCHELL: I'd rather not wait around two weeks for a ride.

01:07:14:25 TEAL’C (CONT’D O/S): It's Nirrti's DNA manipulation device.

01:07:17:17 MITCHELL (O/S): Nirrti...

01:07:19:05 MITCHELL (CONT’D): She was the Goa'uld that was trying to create an

advanced host…

01:07:21:24 MITCHELL (CONT’D O/S): Right? Ended up with a bunch of superfreaks…

01:07:40:14 DANIEL: This writing's in Ancient.

01:08:42:19 DR. LAM: Well, you're clean. No sign of any exposure to infectious agents.

01:08:47:18 MITCHELL: Great. How's Pod Man?

01:08:49:07 DR. LAM: Also going to be fine. I suspect the convulsions were just a reaction

to coming out of stasis, although his preliminary test results were quite

interesting.

01:08:56:17 DR. LAM: We've been able to study the genetic characteristics of the Ancients

from the database sent back to us from Atlantis.

01:09:02:06 DR. LAM (CONT’D): Our Patient "X" definitely shows some physiological

similarities.


01:09:06:24 CARTER: Do you think he's an Ancient?

01:09:08:07 DR. LAM (O/S): I'm running a more detailed analysis.

01:09:09:18 DR. LAM (CONT’D): There were some other strange anomalies--but in the

meantime, why don't we ask him?

like some sort of science lab.

01:10:05:29 MITCHELL (O/S): Yeah, that's right.

01:10:11:08 KHALEK: I want to go home.

01:10:12:24 CARTER: Home? Where is home?

01:10:16:18 KHALEK: He took me. I was a prisoner...

01:10:20:21 KHALEK (CONT’D O/S): So long.

01:10:24:29 KHALEK (CONT’D): He did experiments on me.

01:10:28:04 MITCHELL: "He" who?

01:10:30:04 KHALEK: I never knew his name.

01:10:59:24 CARTER: Too bad. Poor guy. This is exactly what Nirrti did--kidnapped people

and then experimented…

01:11:07:26 CARTER: Well, I'm sure Nirrti wasn't the only Goa'uld with an interest in

evolved human hosts.

send a MALP. Hopefully, it'll still be somewhere he wants to go back

01:11:44:09 ALTMAN: Well, looks like that black hole is just a regular old black hole.


01:11:47:11 ALTMAN (CONT’D): No giant Ori supergates.

01:11:49:06 DANIEL: That's good.

01:11:50:10 ALTMAN: Teal'c said you could use some help in here.

01:11:53:03 DANIEL: There's something wrong with the power supply. It's driving me nuts.

01:11:56:02 ALTMAN: Well, we'll look into it.

01:11:58:15 TEAL’C: Colonel Mitchell says the man we found in stasis is not an Ancient.

it as code on his ships.

01:12:31:24 TEAL’C (O/S): The lab does not…

01:12:32:05 TEAL’C (CONT’D): Belong to an Ancient.

01:12:33:13 DANIEL: It belonged to Anubis.

01:12:34:13 LANDRY: But he's long gone now.

hybrid. He was grown in that lab.

have a snake in his head, but the man we defrosted and brought

back here has Goa'uld DNA intermingled with his own. He may as well

be the son of Anubis.

01:13:14:20 DANIEL: The log entry said Anubis managed to replicate his pre-ascension

DNA using the genetic manipulation device, then he combined it with

human DNA and was able to rapidly grow our friend there.

01:13:25:00 DR. LAM (o/S): The analysis I did suggests that Khalek…

01:13:27:11 DR. LAM (CONT’D): Is significantly more evolved than we are, much more in

line with the human form of the Ancients prior to ascension.

01:13:32:29 MITCHELL: So he could have all kinds of super-funky powers.

01:13:35:18 CARTER: The subjects Nirrti manipulated demonstrated telekinetic and psychic

abilities.

01:13:39:14 MITCHELL: Like the Priors.

01:13:40:26 DANIEL: The goal of the experiment seems to have been to create an

advanced human.

01:13:43:24 LANDRY: With a little Anubis blended in.

01:13:47:00 CARTER (O/S): You said he used his pre-ascended DNA.


01:13:48:26 CARTER (CONT’D): Do you think he was doing these experiments before he

ascended?

01:13:51:02 DANIEL: No, see, that timeline doesn't track with the log. Plus it says he had

to reproduce his DNA…

01:13:55:01 DANIEL (CONT’D O/S): Which means he was doing all this after he

ascended…

01:13:57:09 DANIEL (CONT’D): And was sent back by the Ancients...well, halfway.

01:14:00:15 CARTER (O/S): But this doesn't make any sense.

01:14:01:18 CARTER (CONT’D): Even a highly evolved human host wouldn't be as

advanced as he was. Why bother?

01:14:06:08 MITCHELL (O/S): Maybe he didn't like being stuck in limbo.

01:14:43:04 DANIEL: Look, the fact is, we don't know how successful Anubis was. Khalek

is advanced, yes, but we don't know how far along he actually is.

advancement…

01:14:51:11 DANIEL (CONT’D): And I'll bet you anything he is, it's possible the only thing

keeping him from ascending right now is that he hasn't figured out

how.

the very least, we're going to have another Anubis on our hands, and

at that point…

treatment in this machine…

then it takes some time--weeks, months--to adjust.

how they work. It's a gradual process.

anymore. We've been through it twice now.

Khalek's brain…

machine to see where it's really going.

technology rather than the help of another ascended being?

this research. That's why I'm not going to let you stand in the way.
