Outline
• Why There Is A Need for Light Stabilizers
• Challenges in Waterborne System
• The Total Solution of Wood Coatings
Why Use Light Stabilizer for Wood ?
• Wood is composed of lignin, cellulose and hemicelluloses.
• Waterborne clear coating is there to protect the wood substrate from
sunlight and moisture.

Why Use Light Stabilizer for Wood ?
• Wood is composed of lignin, cellulose and hemicelluloses.
• Lignin, when exposed to the sunlight, can easily be degraded.

Conclusions
• AQ1 is easy to disperse in waterborne coatings
and meet the requirements.
• 10% SB1 in IPA is good for the pretreatment to
softwoods.
• Using AQ1 and SB1 together can give you
synergistic performance.
