Edward C. Penick Endodont ic Study Club
Dr. John McSpadden described his technique of thermoplasticising gutta-per- cha with the McSpadden Compactor before 72 members of the Edward C. Penick Endodontic Study Club on Dec 4 in Bethesda, Md. He also described briefly the Dynatrak filling technique.
Scheduled speakers for future meetings are Drs. Joseph Camp and Donald Antrim.

Dr. George Feldman, Brooklyn, NY addressed a meeting of New York's Tri State Society of Endodontists on Jan 20, 1982, at the Barbizon Plaza Hotel. His topic, "Periodontal disease: where is endo- dontic therapy indicated?" discussed the generally accepted fact that there is a relationship between endodontic and peri- odontal lesions. He presented various cases that illustrated muhivaried periodontal problems that were treated either success- fully or unsuccessfully with endodontic therapy.a

Louis I. Grossman Study Club
About 40 members of the Louis I. Grossman Study Club heard Dr. Walter T. Cunningham of San Francisco speak on "Current research and clinical findings using ultrasonic cleaning in endodontics" at Philadelphia's Bookbinder's Restaurant on Nov 19.
A meeting of the Pennsylvania Academy of Endodontics was held before the din- ner.

The topics of dentists' rights under the no-fauh law and false advertising were discussed during the Oct 21 annual meet- ing of the New York State Association of Endodontists at the Holiday Inn in Mon- roe County.
The membership approved two mo- tions that copies of the dentists' rights under the no-fauh law be disseminated to members, and that the Dental Society of the State of New York send letters asking the telephone company and its publishers not to aid false advertising. It was recom- mended that the advertiser request certifi- cation of that specialty.
Drs. Monroe R. Brenner, president; Roger T. Gzarnecki, vice-president; and Norman M. Roland, secretary-treasurer, were elected NYSAD officers for 1982- 1984.
Drs. Thomas E. Hebert, Fifth District; Robert G. Giannuzzi, Sixth District; Gerard T. Grassi, Seventh District; and Michael D. Altman, Eighth District, were elected district representatives for the years 1982 to 1985.
