Technical characteristics of PCP Down-hole Pump
The PC pump is also named progressive cavity pump.
It consists of stator and rotor, of which the helical
interference forms a series of continuous sealed cavities,
and the medium transmission is then realized through
the rotor rotational movement.
PCP Down-hole Pump is to connect the stator and
rotor respectively to the ends of the oil tube and the
sucker rod, the drive head on ground can drive the rotor
through the sucker rod and the down-hole liquid can
then be lifted to the ground.
•Lower early investment
Compared with electric submersible pump, hydraulic
piston pump and beam-pumping unit, PCP Down-hole
pump’s first investment is smaller.
•Higher efficiency, energy saving and lower maintenance
cost
The load of PCP Down-hole pump is stable during
operation, the mechanical loss is less, and the pump
efficiency can reach 45%-65% and the highest can reach
70%, but that of the plunger-type pumping unit is only
about 30%.
•Compact structure
It is small in volume and the transportation cost is lower;
its surface installation is simple and the area occupied is
small, it is easy in installation and maintenance.
•It is suitable for thickened oil convey
PCP down-hole pump is suitable for conveying
crude oil with the viscosity under 8000mPa.s, therefore,
most heavy oil well can use this pump.
•It is suitable for oil wells with high sand content
Because of the good yield ability of the stator rubber, it
can be applied in high sand content oil wells.
•It is suitable for high gas content oil wells
The gas locking PCP down-hole pump cannot occur, thus
it is suitable for oil-gas mixing conveyance, but the free
gas at the entry of the PCP down-hole pump can affect
its volume efficiency.
•It is suitable for cluster well group and horizontal well of
offshore oil fields
This pump can be lowered down to the deviated well
section, and the equipment is simple in structure,
small area occupied, less cost in transportation and
maintenance, therefore, it is suitable for offshore oil
production.
Working principle of PC pump

S-PCP Down-hole Pump
Surface drive device is the main ground equipment of
PCP down-hole pump units, it is a mechanical device
to transfer the power to the rotor of PCP down-hole
pump, and make the rotor to do planetary motion,
and to pump crude oil.
Subtor can equip two main auxiliary products, i.e., the
surface drive device special for new-type gear direct
drive PC pump and the permanent magnet motor
direct-driven device.
The main component parts of the surface drive device
special for new-type gear direct drive PC pump are:
electric motor, gear box, anti-reverse mechanism,
sealing device, well plugging device and electric
control cabinet. Through the sucker rod rotational
motion, the surface drive device can transfer the
wellhead power to the down hole and drive the
down-hole pump to work.
Characteristics:
The pump with many patents is technically advanced,
superior performance, and simple operation; for
the unique top fully mechanically sealing, there is
not any leakage, it can be simply and easily replaced
without needing any lifting equipment; it is directly
gear driven without needing to change belt, it is
lower noise, energy saving, environmental protection,
smooth running under high speed condition (500rpm),
and greatly reduction of maintenance amount; its
advanced high-voltage isolation device can preferably
protect the mechanical seals.
Surface Drive Device
Gear Type Motor
The permanent magnet motor direct-driven device
has adopted a vertical hollow axle permanent magnet
brushless DC motor to directly drive the polish rod of
the PC pump, transfer the rotary force to the sucker
rod, and to drive the rotor of the PC pump to rotate.
The permanent magnet brushless DC motor is driven
with a special controller, through which the stepless
regulation of rotating speed and various protection
functions of the PC pump unit can be realized.
Characteristics:
The special controller can realize the stepless speed
regulation, and has the protection functions of soft
start-up, soft shutdown, over loading and over current;
anti reverse brake employs the electromagnetic
brake, the reversal potential energy of the rods can
be automatically released; the permanent magnet
brushless motor does not have any excitation loss, it
is high efficient and high power density; through the
human-computer interface of the controller, it is easy
to regulate the parameters and simple to operate.
Aiming at different surface drive devices, Subtor
supplies completely the frequency conversion control
cabinet and permanent magnet motor direct-driven
control cabinet for controlling the start-up, stop, and
speed regulation of motor, automatically displaying,
recording the current and voltage of the PCP down-
hole pump in regular production, the automatic
protection function of overload and underload can
guarantee normal production of oil wells.

S-PCP Down-hole Pump
Subtor mainly manufactures single head PCP down-
hole pump, the main structures are stator, rotor and
limit short sections. The connecting thread of stator
is standard tubing thread, and the connecting thread
of rotor is the standard sucker rod thread, it can also
specially tailor made according to the requirement of
customers.

The rotor's material mainly is steel 45, alloy steel 42CrM,
stainless steel 304 and 316, it is machined with high-
precision CNC screw machining equipment and surface
chrome plated for wear resistance and anticorrosion. The
rotor processing equipment is introduced from Germany,
it can machine single-head and multi-head rotor in
high precision, the dimension error ≤ ±0.04mm and the
longest work piece can reach 10m.
The stator consists of a metal sleeve and the rubber
lined inside, all the stators used by our company are
adopt German Technology, the elastomers mainly
including the high performance rubber as NBR, NBRH,

Sucker rod centralizer:
The rod string is rotating inside the oil tube, because
the large centrifugal force and the inertia effect can
make the rod string vibrating and bent the friction
between the sucker rod string and the tube inner
wall will occur. Therefore, a righting measure for the
rod string should be taken to eliminate the vibration
and avoid the direct contact of the rod string with the
tube inner wall
Pump, oil tube centralizer
The rotation of the rotor inside the stator of a PC
pump will produce a centrifugal effect, this will make
the stator periodically impacted and then producing
vibration, such existing vibration will reduce the
service life of the system. Therefore, a righting
measure for the body of the PC pump should be taken
so as to reduce or remove such vibration

Torque anchor:
Because the rotor of a PC pump is rotating clockwise
inside the stator, the workload is directly in the form
of torque, the torque of the rotor exerts on the stator,
the torque of the stator will make the top right hand
thread oil tube releasing and the tube string dropped
out, therefore, a thread-off proof measure for the oil
tube string of a PC pump well should be taken, and a
torque anchor should be mounted
