What is Sudoku?
Latin squares,
expanded

with some numbers missing,
so it’s your challenge to complete the puzzle.

What are the rules?No number repeats in a row
No number repeats in a column
No number repeats in a 4-patch block in a 4-patch puzzle, or in a 9-patch block in a 9-patch puzzle

How do you do it?Scan for cells that can hold only 1 certain number
Note all clue possibilities in each cell, then look for any cell that has only 1 possibility
Fill in the clue numbers that have only 2 or 3 incidences in each row, column or block

Only 2 kinds of blocks work:
