    Dear Citizens,

On April 5, 2016, the citizens of Fulton will be asked to consider a 1/2cent sales tax increase that will generate approximately $750,000 inannual revenue which will be dedicated to funding a variety of Parks andRecreation initiatives, as well as some much-needed storm waterimprovement projects.

The City of Fulton, with the assistance of the Park Board, has developeda comprehensive and progressive 10-year Parks and Recreation Master

Plan, based on what YOU, the citizens, have indicated as your toprecreational need. Many of these needs have been the same for the last20-30 years, but the City has not had the necessary resources to meetthose needs. A 1/2 cent sales tax will provide the resources needed forthe City to effectively meet the growing demands of the citizens on a longterm basis. This master plan is extremely aggressive and will greatlybenefit the entire community by providing more recreational opportunities, improving the local economy and improving the overall quality of life forthe people of this community. Revenue from the 1/2 cent sales tax will beused for several major development projects and storm waterimprovement projects as well as some minor improvement projects toexisting park amenities. Some of the major projects being consideredare: 1) a Multi-purpose Community Center to meet the increasingdemand for indoor activity space, 2) a 5-field Baseball/Softball Complexthat will allow families to watch their children play in one location andbring visitors to our town for tournaments, 3) a New, More ModernAquatic Center to replace our 34 year old swimming pool, 4) a Veterans

Memorial Wall in Veterans Park, 5) More Splashpads, 6) MorePlaygrounds, and 7) Future Stinson Creek Trail Additions. There issomething for everyone!

This is an opportunity to make Fulton a better community and give ourcitizens local opportunities so they will not have to travel to Jefferson City,Columbia and beyond to enjoy quality recreational amenities. The long-term benefits are endless and will come at a small pricecosting youonly 50 cents for every 100 retail dollars you spend. In addition, a lot ofthe sales tax revenue will come from people outside the community whovisit and shop in Fulton.

Imagine what Fulton will look like in 10, 20 or 30 years with this smallsales tax

Imagine what it will be like for your children and grandchildren without thissmall sales tax!
