Great Summers Start Here JUNE 10th - AUGUST 9th TEEN CAMP PROGRAMS Summer Brain Gain – ages 6-12 is six weeks of fun, theme-based activities designed to mitigate summer learning loss for early and upper elementary, middle, and high school youth. Each Common Core aligned learning module provides engaging project-based activities, with an emphasis on math, literacy, and 21st century skills. STEM – all ages Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Kids dive into the world of science by conducting cool science experiments or creating their own theories. The messier the project the better. Triple Play – all ages We encourage kids to be healthy in their minds, body and their soul. Triple play is a comprehensive health and wellness initiative that teaches kids how to improve their overall health. Kids will participate in fun physical activity and learn healthy habits to incorporate into their daily lives. Arts - all ages Kids will learn the techniques of drawing, painting, sketching and more. Drama Matters ages - all ages Kids will enhance their confidence and ability to perform as they learn the fundamentals of drama and theater. They will participate in fun theatrical activities to boost their self-esteem. Photography - ages 12-15 Kids will be able to see the world through a whole new lens. They will be able to explore their artistic expression through various photography techniques. Vision to Learn is a non-profit organization that gives free eye exams and glasses to children who need them. For six years the Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley has been offering its summer camp members the opportunity to have FREE eye screenings, exams and glasses from Vision to Learn. The three-step process includes eye screenings for all members. If a member fails the eye screening or currently wears glasses, they will then have a full eye exam in a mobile eye clinic with an Optometrist. The member will pick their own glasses and a few weeks later, Vision to Learn will return and fit the glasses to each member by an Optician. CAMP HOURS: 9AM-6PM

EARLY DROP OFF: 7AM – 8:55AM

SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION SUMMER DAY CAMP FEES:• $85 per week

• Deposit of $25 per week required to hold spot

• All campers will receive a T-shirt and two membership cards

EARLY DROP OFF: $60 for ENTIRE summer (no prorated rates)

MEMBERSHIP Annual membership is $35/year

• All campers must be current registered members of the Club.

• The WVBGC is an approved CCRC agency for members up to 12 years of age.

AGE REQUIREMENTS Minimum age to participate in the Teen Summer Camp is 12 years old (completed 6th grade) and no older than 14 years old (completed 8th grade).

HIGH SCHOOL MEMBERS may participate at Canoga Park High School summer program at no charge. (Students exiting 8th grade are eligible to participate). Please contact the Club for dates and times.

ENROLLMENTMembership applications and Summer Camp Registration forms are available at the Main Clubhouse and online at wvgbc.org. All participants must have both forms on file and all emergency information must be updated and accurate. Parents/Guardians must sign that the policies and procedures have been received and may participate in a parent orientation for more detailed information. Membership card and T-shirt will be distributed at orientation. Members must bring their membership card daily. Replacement cards will be $5.

ORIENTATION DATES May 21st at 6pm and June 7th at 6pm

Snack and lunch served Daily: Meals are provided by Revolution Foods. Meals are healthy and may not be hot meals. The Club will have a menu available, however, menu items may change without notice. Members may bring snacks and lunch if preferred, however, they can only eat at designated times and locations.

Daily structure: The teens are in the Purple group which has a separate set of age appropriate programs. The Purple group will rotate to different areas throughout the day in the Main Clubhouse as well as the Teen Center across the street. Members must remain in their group at all times. Each group meets in designated area at 9AM for morning.

Drop off and pick up: Summer day camp begins at 9am daily, however, you can come at any time during the day. When your child arrives at the Club he/she must scan in at the front desk with their membership card and check in with their group leader. Parents/guardians must sign the child out at the front desk when picking up and the child must scan out with their membership card as well.

Field Trips: All summer camp fees must be paid in full in order to secure your spot on field trips. Field trips are additional and must be paid in full by the deadline indicated on the permission slip. Permission slips and/or payment WILL NOT be accepted the day of the trip. NO EXCEPTIONS. If you paid for a trip up front and you require a refund you must submit a Refund Request Form NO LATER THAN 3 days prior to the day of the trip. Refunds will NOT be granted after the 3- day window. Club shirts MUST be worn on ALL field trips. FIELD TRIPS are subject to change. More information regarding dates, cost, permission slips and enrollment will be available at the front desk.

First week of summer camp is always exciting. Teens are encouraged to try new things and meet new people.

Jungle theme activities involving animals, nature and the earth are planned throughout the week.

Science is so much fun! Kids will dive into the world of S.T.E.M (Science, technology, Engineering and Math) Fun, messy experiments await!

All week long we’ll be playing your song and partying in the USA!Get ready for an All-American backyard BBQ and come decked out in your Red, White and Blue!

We are pleased to inform you that you have been invited to Camp Hogwarts of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Members will play active games of quidditch, design their own secret Marauders Map, and create fizzly, bubbling concotions in the amazingly fun Potion-making class!

Sports, fitness and fun! Kids will learn about different sports and even make up their own wacky sports. Fun tournaments are scheduled all week.

Learning about different cultures around the world is eye opening. Teens will create their travel bucket lists and share stories/pictures of the places they’ve seen!

This week we are diving under the sea and exploring the world under water. Teens will spend the week soaked so get those flip flops, shorts and tank tops ready!
