STUDENT FACULTY INTERACTION

• Student reports to Faculty Guide regularly

• On mobile, through email, personal meeting through

appointment

• Faculty interacts with Industry Mentor and monitors

student’s progress

• Ms Pooja Goswami ([email protected] ) will

be the central Coordinator for SIP activities. Students

should mark copy of correspondence/ report etc to

her in addition to Faculty Guide.

STUDENT –MENTOR INTERACTION

Get help from Industry Mentor to identify

suitable assignment

Interact regularly with Industry Mentor for

guidance, suggestions for project

Industry Mentor is Project Supervisor and

evaluates student’s progress

Student to be well prepared for formal

meeting with Industry Mentor

100% attendance during SIP compulsory

To follow timing of host organization as

directed by Industry Mentor

For emergency reasons, apply for leave to

Industry Mentor

Keep Faculty Guide and SIP coordinator of

Institute fully in picture

CONDUCT AND BEHAVIOUR

• Conform to rules and regulation of host

organization

• Dress formally during SIP

• Be punctual, regular & obedient at work

• Strict disciplinary action against misconduct,

indiscipline, unprofessional behavior

STUDENT OBLIGATION

Before SIP:

• Familiarize with respective Company from

all sources

• Prepare approach paper for assignment &

discuss with Faculty Guide

During SIP:

Report to Industry Mentor regularly on

appointed time, formally at least once a

week

Follow deadlines for submission of report

Maintain daily Log Book at least a page

everyday and get initialled by Mentor

periodically. Log Book to be submitted to

Faculty Guide.

Interact with Faculty regularly

Contd…..At end of SIP:

• Submit Project Report to Industry Mentor

• Request Mentor to complete evaluation and

send directly to DSIMS coordinator

• Consult Faculty Guide, complete final bound

report and submit to Faculty and DSIMS

coordinator within one week from completion

of SIP

• Attend Seminar & Viva for final evaluation

SIP EVALUATION

• Evaluation by Industry Mentor & Faculty Guide

• Periodical evaluation during SIP followed by

seminar & viva

• Final evaluation to consider: Organization & execution of Project Plan Project Scope & level of difficulty Validity of Conclusion Quality & thoroughness of Final Report Performance in Seminar & Viva

ROLES AND OBLIGATIONS: INDUSTRY MENTOR

To support the students to complete the project by providing

advice and feedback at appropriate time.

To confirm to DSIMS that the Project is the student’s own

work and has been completed to his/ her satisfaction.

To encourage the students to think about operational/

efficiency issues which help the students to identify a

project of interest.

To assist and guide the student during SIP, data analysis

and subsequent inferences.

To submit midterm progress report and end term evaluation.

FACULTY GUIDE

To provide direction on application of domain

competencies to the Project

To assist in finalizing Project proposal and

developing Project plan.

To visit & interact with the student and

Industry mentor in the host Organization

during SIP ( one visit reqd ).

1st visit: From 8th to 18th May 2015

Tele contact/2nd visit: From 15th to 24rd

June 2015
