Summer Racing Over the summer, Warrior Racing continued to test
and race RWX and RW9. This included taking
“Xena” to a hosted by the University of Pittsburgh,
and an autocross in Oscoda, MI. RWX continued to
perform, finishing 3rd at the Pittsburgh shootout, and
winning the Formula SAE class at the Oscoda auto-
cross. The team continued to make improvements to
RWX adding pneumatic shifting for the first time on a
Road Warrior. Warrior Racing also hosted our sec-
ond annual end of season shootout. This gave first
year team members a chance to drive a formula car
for the first time. It also a goodbye for our two gradu-
ating members, team President Tirath Matharu and
lead analyst Pranav Sridhar.
Help Us Take the Checkered Flag Warrior Racing is taking part in a crowd funding campaign
through the WarriorFunder program at Wayne State Univer-
sity. We are looking to reach our goal of $2,500 to cover our
competition fees this season. We are just over half way there,
at $1,455 but time is running out! We only have until Octo-
ber 14th to reach out goal! To help us out, please visit:
https://warriorfunder.wayne.edu/project/2723 By helping us out, you too could receive some Warrior Rac-
ing gear including t-shirts, hats, team posters. There is also a
chance to receive a personalized shop tour, your name or
logo on our next Road Warrior and passes to Kart to Kart go
karting.
Welcome Warriors Fall marks a busy time for Warrior Racing, we brought RWX and RW9 to many events both on and off
campus. First we took RWX to the Woodward Dream Cruise, not even the rain could dampen our spirits.
Next we had RWX and RW9 on display at Wayne State’s Festifall. We attracted a lot of attention as new
students heard the roar of our Road Warriors. Thanks to all of those that stopped by and took a picture with
out team, including the WSU Cheerleading team, WSU Police, and Dean Farshad Fotoui.
Tire Talks with Dr. Edward Kasprzak Warrior Racing hosted a lecture from Dr. Edward
Kasprzak as part of the SAE Industrial lecture series.
Dr. Kasprzak gave a presentation on tire testing and
the SAE tire testing consortium. He also shared in-
valuable knowledge about the design event and his
Formula SAE experience. Our whole team took in
great information from Dr. Kasprzak’s visit, and we
would like to thank him again for making the trip
down to meet with us. We also got to see Dr.
Kasprzak the following day at the SAE workshop
hosted by Lawrence Tech. Warrior Racing alumni
Adam Niner and Kristina Vujic flipped sides from
spectators to presenters at the workshop, as they cov-
ered team management and organization.

Major events, like SAE gatherings or intercollegiate races, need to
have bigger articles on the main page. These events on this page should
be about fundraisers and the such. If there’s updates on the cafe’,
they’d go here. When competition roles around I always do a refresh of
the point breakdown and what happens each day. You can put that
here, but that does deserve a full article (see previous newsletters for
examples)

Warrior Racing is proud to welcome back Liberty’s Gears to our program! They have assisted our team with the precise manufac-turing of many Drivetrain and Suspension components. Needless to say Road Warrior 8 wouldn’t be on the ground without their support! Thank you Liberty’s Gears!
Our team’s success is made possible through the generous donations and sup-port from the following companies. Without them our team would not have the re-sources needed to provide invaluable hands on experience and to manufacture our for-mula cars. From all members of our team, thank you Warrior Racing sponsors!
