    thoxo Anastasi aftu.

Eternal with the Father and the Spirit is the Word, Who of a Virgin was begotten for our salvation. As the faith-ful we both praise and worship Him, for in the flesh did He consent to ascend unto the Cross, and death did He

endure and He raised unto life the dead through His all glorious resurrection.

When Thou was baptized in the Jordan, O Lord, the worship of the Trinity was made manifest; for the voice of the Father bore witness to Thee, calling Thee his beloved Son. And the Spirit in the form of a dove confirmed the certainty of the word. O Christ our God, Who hast appeared and hast enlightened the world, glory be to Thee.

Hymn for the Transfiguration of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

Metemorfothis en to ori, Christe o Theos, dixas tis mathites Sou tin doxan Sou, kathos idynando Lampson ke imin tis amartolis to fos Sou to aidion, presvies tis Theotokou Fotodota doxa Si.

When O Christ our God Thou wast Transfigured on the mountain Thou didst reveal Thy glory to Thy disciples in proportion as they could bear it. Let Thine everlasting light also enlighten us sinners. Through the intercessions

of the Theotokos, O Thou Bestower of light, glory to Thee

Oh this day Thou hast appeared unto the whole world, and Thy light, O Sovereign Lord, is signed on us who sing Thy praise and chant with knowledge: Thou hast now come, Thou hast appeared, O Thou Light unapproachable

Please allow the children and the teachers of our Sunday School to take communion first so they can go to their classes.

  • St. Paul's Letter to the Ephesians 4:7-13 Prokeimenon. Mode 1.

Psalm 32.22,1 Let your mercy, O Lord, be upon us.

Verse: Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous. The reading is from St. Paul's Letter to the Ephesians 4:7-13

B RETHREN, grace was given to each of us ac-cording to the measure of Christ's gift. Therefore

it is said, "When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men." (in saying, "He ascended," what does it mean but that he had also de-scended into the lower parts of the earth? He who de-scended is he who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.) And his gifts were that some should be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to ma-ture manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

Overf low Parking! We are very appreciative that we are being allowed to park at the base again this week. Please remember, if you are young and able, to park at the base and free up space in our lot for our older parishioners, guests and families with small children.

Also as a reminder for everyone, please refrain from parking in a reserved space or along the emergency lanes marked off by the orange cones. Emergency lanes need to be kept clear in case an emergency vehicle needs to get through to the Sanctuary.

ALL CARS NEED TO BE OUT OF THE BASE BY 12:30PM OR THEY WILL BE LOCKED IN THE BASE

A t that time, when Jesus heard that John had been ar-rested, he withdrew into Galilee; and leaving Naza-

reth he went and dwelt in Capernaum by the sea, in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtali, that what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: "The land of Zeb-ulun and the land of Naphtali, toward the sea, across the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles, the people who sat in dark-ness have seen a great light, and for those who sat in the region and shadow of death light has dawned." From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the king-dom of heaven is at hand."

Today we are administering the Affirmation of Office to the NEW Parish Council following the Divine Liturgy

“I,____________________, do solemnly affirm that I will uphold the dogma, teaching, traditions, holy canons, worship and moral principles of the Greek Orthodox Church,

as well as the Charter and Regulations of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America,

and that I will faithfully and sincerely fulfill the duties and obligations required of a member of the Parish Council.

    So help me, God.”

“The Holy Apostles asked the first Christian community in Jerusalem to choose individuals of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom the Apostles could appoint to administer the

extended ministry of that community (Acts 6:3).

In like manner, the Parish Council members are co-workers with the Priest.” (Met. Isaiah)

Congratulations to our 2020 Parish Council Members! May God grant you His Holy Spirit with wisdom, strength and above all love.

    Volunteer Opportunity

Did you know that on the second Saturday of every month, Transfiguration forms a team of parishioners to prepare

lunches at the MLF site (not far from the church), as well as distribute these lunches to the home-less in Austin? We are always looking for volunteers! This is a great ministry and a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours on your Saturday morning helping those who are in need.

If you are interested in helping, please contact John Esper at [email protected] to be added to the MLF email distribution list. For those on the list, an email is sent out about 3-4 days prior to the event asking for volunteers. Typically 4-5 volunteers are needed to prepare the lunches, and 3-4 volunteers are needed to deliver the lunches. If you have any questions, please contact John Es-per. We greatly appreciate your help with this ministry!
