Welcome! We are glad you are here! He is Risen! He is Risen indeed! Members and guests, please write your name in the Welcome to Worship folders at the end of the pews so we can more faithfully serve you and get to know you by name.

Children are loved at Concordia…. A Nursery for ages 6 weeks to 3 years is available in the Church Nursery and PK-4 Room at the school. The nursery is available during Bible classes, 10:30am, and 10:45am worship services. Children’s Bulletins are also available as well as worship bags. An usher can help give directions to the nursery, give children's bulletins or get a worship bag.

Thanks to those who came out for “Chick-fil-A” night. We had 51

orders that were filled.

Our youth were active this weekend with Sky High and Bowling. Thanks to

the adult youth sponsors for providing Christian fellowship and positive

encouragement to our teenagers!

Join us on Wednesdays for Youth Group:

We are having “testimony” nights with positive interaction!

Our Webelos 2 Scouts are camping with the Boy Scouts:

Concordia’s afternoon to serve is Monday, May 2nd. Highways & Hedges volunteer opportunities are available each 1st and 3rd Monday of the month from 4pm to 7pm. Please call Smitty Bolick at 828-310-9589 or 828-459-9197 if you would like to help serve the meal or pack to-go bags. Highways & Hedges has moved to 3675 Herman Sipe Rd, Conover, NC. Meals are being prepared and served at Woodlawn Baptist Church, Conover at this time. Concordia’s upcoming volunteer dates for The Corner Table are Thursday, April 28th 10:30am-1pm; Wednesday, May 11th, 10:30am-1pm; June 7th, 10:30am-1pm. Prayerfully consider serving at The Corner Table on one of these dates. Concordia Lutheran Church is hosting the Hickory Rings Concert on Thursday, April 28 at 7:30pm. The Catawba Valley Community Chorus’ spring concerts have begun. Newton-Conover Community Band is having a concert as well. See posters on the bulletin boards for more information on these groups where Concordia members share their gifts of music. Monday Night Worship will conclude on Monday, May 2nd to coincide with the ending of The Story series. A new Wednesday night worship will begin on Wednesday, June 8th and conclude on Wednesday, August 17th. After this date, Wednesdays will be filled with youth activities, music rehearsals, confirmation and parent meetings. The new Wednesday Summer Services will be stand alone and different from our Sunday services. Watch for more information to come! Old St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Newton is celebrating the 200th Anniversary of the construction of its third church building TODAY beginning at 6pm. Christian Priesmeier, a 13th generation direct descendant of Martin Luther, will be presenting details of Luther’s family. The evening will include music and an opportunity to greet Christian & Claudia Priesmeier. Join us for the special event! Do you want to volunteer for VBS! Come help with crafts, decorations and costumes each Wednesday and Thursday morning 9am-12pm in the First Grade Sunday School classroom. Contact Belinda Bost at 828-244-1905 or [email protected]. Communion: In the Lord’s Supper, Jesus offers the faithful His true body and blood to eat and drink. “These words, ‘Given and shed for you for the forgiveness of sins,’ show us that in the Sacrament forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation are given us through these words. These words, along with the bodily eating and drinking, are the main thing in the Sacrament.” Anyone who has questions is invited to speak to the pastor or elder before communing. The cups in the center of the tray are filled with a white non-alcoholic wine and gluten free wafers are available for those with allergies.
