Introducing CrossFit Chaparral

CrossFit Chaparral in 101 words:Keep workouts short, intense, and varied. Practice and train

functional, compound movements: Squats, dead lifts, presses, cleans, and snatches. Master the body weight movements: pull ups, push ups, hand stands, sit ups, throws, holds, and rope climbs.  Run, jump, bike, swim, row and climb, hard and fast.  Combine these exercises in as many combinations as creativity allows. Routine is the enemy; keep your body guessing.  Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. And remember: Physical fitness void of moral character is worthless.  Visit us at www.crossfitchaparral.com.

TONIGHT!!! Sunday Evening Youth Group! We have begun again with our Sunday night meetings and look forward to a semester of contemplative worship, group games, small group discussions and off campus events. If your student only comes to Sunday morning worship and Bible study, he/she is missing out! Sunday nights provide a very safe and laid back atmosphere conducive to relationship building and are designed to promote spiritual growth and be a place where visitors feel like they belong.

Adult MinistriesHait i Mission Opportunit ies: April 15th-23rd

A trip to Northwest Haiti Christian Mission is planned for April 15-23.  Though this trip is centered around a medical surgical team, no medical experience is needed, just your presence to assist the

surgeons and a willingness to help wherever necessary.

There are plenty of babies to be held, prayers to be given,

encouragement and hands to hold for those preparing for surgery and

plenty of opportunities to be the presence of Christ in a land that is in

need of hope.  As the date is fast approaching, plans need to be

made.  For additional information, please contact Wayne Worthington.

CityFest Arizona is coming to Tempe Town Lake March 19-20.

This will be a family friendly festival to celebrate all that has been accomplished with Season of Service throughout our communities in Arizona.  It will feature live concerts, a Family Zone and an action sports demonstration.  As it is anticipated the event will draw over 100,000 persons, CityFest is asking for volunteers to help in a variety of areas, from general volunteers to assisting with parking, tear-down, ushers, clean-up, greeters and security.  If you have any interest in getting involved or to find out about other needs, please contact Sara Perrine ([email protected]).

Womens’ Retreat is almost here! Friday night, February 18 - Sunday morning, February 20.

Cost: $100 - $160 depending on room choice if reservation and deposit are made by Feb. 1 (includes meals),

Living Water Retreat Center in Cornville, AZ (about 2 hours north of Phoenix, near Jerome).

NEW SERIES BEGINNING IN EAST HALL AT 11:00Dr. Hostetlerʼs High Flight Class begins a new study in February titled, The Bible in LIVING COLOR. The class

will attempt to encounter the Bible in a way that will reveal the brilliant colors of life and Spirit which it paints. In this way we

hope to cause the events of the Bible to come alive in LIVING COLOR.

HOUSE OF REFUGE NEEDSI know that many of you have metal bed frames standing in the

corner of your garage. You keep saying you are going to get rid of them. Here is your chance. We are looking for 5 bed frames that

would accommodate queen size box springs. These will be used in our new house. In addition, we need gently used sheet sets –

queen and twin size, pillows, 2 twin mattress sets.As always, thank you for your consideration.

• We would like to get to know you! Each pew has a Welcome Book in which you can let us know prayer requests, sign up for events and update your information. Please pass the Welcome Book down the row so we can hear from everyone!

• Communion/Lord’s Supper All followers of Christ are welcome to participate in our Service of Communion. If you have prepared yourself for this very special moment with our Savior, you are invited to his table. (1 Corinthians 11:23-30) Please take the emblems as they are passed and partake when you are ready. Some prefer to take it while it is in front of them before passing it along.

• Offering In our first two services, a special time for giving is set aside. Participation is an act of worship and voluntary. During our third service there will not be a time specific for offering but rather boxes are placed at the entry to allow for giving as you are led.

• Nursery We have a friendly, well-staffed and impeccably clean nursery located on the north side of the narthex. Please see an usher for directions.

Flowers on the stage are provided by the children of Paul & Charlene Streich

in honor of Paul & Charlene’s 50th wedding anniversary.

We hope your worship experience with us will be meaningful. To help you feel a bit more comfortable with our campus and morning programs, we have included a few recommendations. We are glad you are here today!
