We have arrived at the first weekend of a new year. This is always a good time to look back at what has happened in the last year, and to look forward to what we hope for in the up-coming year. As I look back, the first thing that I feel is gratitude. I am so grateful to be here in this collaborative. I am grateful to the many people who have gone out of their way to make me feel welcomed, and I am grateful to the many people who have stepped up to help both of our parishes to move into the future. I am so grateful to the incredible staffs who work so hard to make our parishes run. So often people will thank me for something that someone else has done. They do all the work, I get all the credit.

In the past year a great deal has happened. The Pastoral Plan Writing Team has met to write our plan for the future. We are about to submit our first draft to the Cardinal. We will be sharing that plan with all of you in the near future. At Saint Mary’s we have re-established the Saint Vincent de Paul Society. Already they have done great work helping people in the parish with bills and other needs. Over the Holidays, the combined Saint Vincent de Paul Societies from both parishes helped well over 100 families celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas. The collaborative had a great Corpus Christi celebration. More than 150 people made the 3 ½ mile walk up 3A with the Eucharist, and more than 200 people gathered at St. Joseph to celebrate. We have added a new Priest to our

Staff. Fr. Antonio dos Santos has come on board to lead our Brazilian Community. That community now meets on Sunday evenings and they have already seen an increase in their weekly attendance.

This next year looks to be an exciting one. We are now a Dynamic Parish. Over the next 5 years we will be working with Dynamic Catholic to help bring our communities to life. We will continue to build strong ties between our two parishes while striving to make sure that each parish maintains its’ unique spirit. In July, Cardinal Sean O’Malley will be coming to join us to celebrate the Holy Ghost Festa at Saint Mary. I hope that this will be a great collaborative celebration. If you haven’t experienced the Festa, you are in for a great new experience.

A lot has happened and a lot is going to happen. I am excited for the future. I hope that you are also. May God bless our Parishes in this up-coming year, and may God be with you and your families in 2020.

Fr. Jack

Our Vision Statement

“We are a growing, joyful, prayerful, Eucharist-centered, vibrant Catholic Community of believers who welcome ALL people in the name of Jesus Christ. We engage in this faith journey together through sacraments, life-long

faith formation, charitable works, and stewardship, in order to be witnesses of God’s love in our daily lives.” We take stewardship seriously. We recognize it is our responsibility and our privilege to share and manage the gifts (time, talent, and

treasure) provided to us by God in a Christian way—using them for the Glory of God and for the betterment of those around us, and, in a very special way, those in need.

“As each has received a gift, employ it for one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace”
