What are your dreams for our Parish? This is the most important question I think I can ask. What do you want our Parish, our Collaborative, to be? This week these are the questions that I pose to every member of Saint Mary and Saint Joseph. This week, with God’s help, we will begin the process of dreaming about the future, and we will begin a journey that will help to make our dreams come true.

Dreaming, and making those dreams a reality is the work of Dynamic Catholic. Dynamic Catholic is an organization that is dedicated to developing world class resources to help parish communities become the best version of themselves. Dynamic Catholic has begun a 5 year initiative to try and determine the best way to do just that. Over the next 5 years they will partner with 100 parish communities across the country to develop best practices to evangelize and re-energize the Church in the United States. Our Collaborative has been invited to be one of those 100 communities. This is a great and exciting opportunity. This week we begin our participation with Dynamic Parish.

As participants in the Dynamic Parish program, we will be receiving a number of resources. We have a Dynamic Catholic consultant assigned to our collaborative. There will also be books, programs and retreats. Over the course of these 5 years we will receive between $500,000 and $1,000,000 in resources. All of this will cost us nothing!

Here is how we begin. This week I ask you to take home the booklet that volunteers will be handing out. This is a simple introduction to Dynamic Parish. Next week I ask you to participate in a simple survey at Mass. If you have a smart phone, bring it. You will be able to take the survey on your phone. If you don’t have a phone there will be paper surveys available. Following that, I ask you to have an open mind, and open heart, and to participate. Invite family and friends to come and dream with us.

God Bless, Father Jack

Our Vision Statement, which will provide us with our INSPIRATION for

our 3-Year Plan:

“We are a growing, joyful, prayerful, Eucharist-centered, vibrant Catholic Community of believers who welcome ALL people in the name of Jesus

Christ. We engage in this faith journey together through sacraments, life-long faith formation, charitable works, and stewardship, in order to be wit-

nesses of God’s love in our daily lives.”

We are a Catholic Community...we are united with the one, universal Church. We worship together, we support each other in times of sadness and celebrate with

each other in times of joy. Each of us is an integral part of the Church as a whole—and when one is missing...he/she is missed.

“so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another “

Romans 12:5

DYNAMIC PARISH WHAT IS DYNAMIC PARISH?

Today our collaborative is announcing the beginning of an

exciting new initiative called “Dynamic Parish.” Dynamic Parish is

an effort to help every parish in America not just survive, but to truly

become a dynamic parish. Our collaborative is one of only 61 across

the country to have been selected! In exchange for being part of the first

group of parishes, Dynamic Catholic will provide over a million dollars of

world-class resources in books, programs, parish best-practices and regular coaching for our collaborative

leadership team—all at NO COST to our collaborative. If you missed the information shared at Mass, please visit the parish website to view the

video message from Dynamic Catholic’s Matthew Kelly and a link to

a booklet for parishioners which describes the program.

Faith Formation classes for Grades 1-8 will resume this week beginning on Sunday, No-vember 10. Grade 5 students will be participating at the 10:30am Family Mass.

Confirmation Prep I classes will resume this Thursday, November 14 at 6pm at St. Mary’s Parish Center.

Confirmation Prep II classes will resume on Sunday, November 17 at 6pm at Our Lady’s Hall at St. Joseph Parish. Please continue to work on the paperwork received at the first class in September. Drop off the completed forms at the Faith Formation Office or bring them to the next class on November 17.

There will be a Teen Mass on Sunday, November 17 at 5pm at St. Joseph Parish. All parishioners are welcome!

P3 - YOUTH MINISTRY Every Monday night at 6pm we gather as a community for Pizza, People and Prayer. A chance to pray with and for one another, while deepening our relationship with Je-sus Christ. A typical Monday night is about teens gathering together in prayer and talking about their week. The setting is informal and relaxed. Following prayer, there is plenty of time to socialize, make new friends and of course...EAT PIZZA! This month’s Family Faith topic focused on Forming Our Conscience

and how we can look to the Saints as our guide when making decisions.

Families with students in Grades 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 should work on Lessons 3 and 4 in their ‘A Family of Faith’ books.

Families with students in Grade 2 should work on Lessons 3 and 4 in the purple First Reconciliation folder.

Families with students in Grades 7 and 8 should work on the Gospel Weeklies for the additional lessons in November.
