I hope I will always remember the feeling I had right before I turned my will over to God; when I had been granted the gift of desperation, when I knew there was nothing left in me to try and fight this battle on my own. The days were accumulating, progressively getting worse, but it was the moment before I threw my hands up that I want to remember. I knew I was completely powerless. In that moment, I couldnt stand, or think, or breathe, or cry; in that mo- ment, there really was only one option. I didnt know that God was there the whole time, waiting for me to open my heart; but when I did, I could breathe again. This is the moment I keep reminding myself of, as we are all in isolation. To be in a State of Emergency”, seems pretty surreal, yet familiar to me at the same time. It s hard to try and understand the chaos that was once just inside my head, that drove me into my own isolation, is now similarly being felt across the globe. My gratitude for Alcoholics Anonymous is growing daily. Today I know I am not alone, and I dont ever have to go back to that moment again. What a time to be alive. In that moment, I couldn’t stand, or think, or breathe, or cry; in that mo-ment, there really was only one option. I didn’t know that God was there the whole time, waiting for me to open my heart; but when I did, I could breathe again. This is the moment I keep reminding myself of, as we are all in isolation. "Sunrise" publishes articles that reflect the full diversity of experience and opinion found within the Fellow-ship of Alcoholics Anonymous. In determining content, the editor relies on the principles of the Twelve Tra-ditions. "Sunrise" values the shared experience of individual AA members working the AA program and ap-plying the principles of the Twelve Steps. Seeking neither to gloss over difficult issues nor to present such issues in a harmful or contentious manner, ""Sunrise" tries to embody the widest possible view of the AA Fel-lowship. The editor of ""Sunrise" reserves the right to accept or reject material for publication, based on the AA traditions. (We note that this policy is consistent with that of the AA Grapevine.) Articles are not intended to be statements of AA policy, nor does publication of any article constitute endorsement by ei-ther Alcoholics Anonymous or Saskatoon Area Intergroup. Submissions are always welcome.

Thank you to everyone who made the 2020

Saskatoon AA Round Up with Alanon par-

ticipation a success. We had a great turn

out and have had lots of good feedback

and suggestions which will be looked at by

the 2021 committee.

As a committee, we would especially like to

thank Butt Can for once again sharing your

talents with us at the hootenanny. We

would also like to thank the many volun-

teers that came to help us and the staff at

the Travelodge who help make this event a

success year after year. And to our speakers

and panelists, thank you for sharing your

Experience, Strength and Hope. A big thank

you to anyone else we may have missed.

I would personally like to extend a grateful

Thank you to the committee that worked

so hard to ensure this Round Up went so

smoothly. It was a privilege to work along-

side you.

We pass the torch to the new committee

and look forward to next years event!

In love and service,

Lori R.
