Jim and I have thoroughly enjoyed hosting Sunrise travelers on the three week stay in St. Pete Beach,

FL and after such an incredibly cold and snowy winter in St. Louis in 2011, we think even more Sunrise travelers will want to “escape” winter with us in 2012! Your challenge will be figur-ing which option suits your style and time con-straints for travel – how many weeks do you want to walk the white sands of St. Pete Beach (1-4 week options), do you prefer traveling by coach or air? Whichever option you choose, you will have a chance to get to know your fel-low Sunrise Travelers at the weekly Sunday “Souper” Suppers and catch up on weather reports from home, get the low down on the best eateries and activities in the area and hear about the two excursions planned for the week. Check out the photos taken during this trip by one of our travelers on our web site for just a little more enticement!While visiting with a couple who are frequent Sunrise travelers at a recent travelogue, I heard a confession that made my day. This couple, who will remain unnamed, decided to take a trip to Sedona, a little town amidst gorgeous red rocks in Arizona, on their own. Upon their re-

turn, they added their costs, realized the wasted time and hassles incurred driving out of their way and the inconvenience of not being able to find a good restaurant until their last evening on the trip. Then they discovered they could have visited Sedona with Sunrise Tours without the hassles and for less money. This is probably a testimony I should get in writing! At that same travelogue another traveler ap-proached me and told of how much she is look-ing forward to going on the cruise we are offer-ing this fall to the Panama Canal. Her daughter was born there and she was excited about see-ing Panama once again and decided to just do it because she can do it. “Do it because I can still do it” seems to be a common motivation among our travelers. I guess Nike coined a phrase ap-propriate for all ages – “Just Do It”. See the Na-tional Parks, take a grandchild to a special place, ask that friend to come along, visit that 50th state, ride a scenic train, revisit a favorite ball-park, or whatever else sparks your soul – just do it! • I hope you have determined that overall the drivers at Mid-American Coaches are efficient, thoughtful, cooperative and good drivers. That happens to be my opinion and please let me know if you do not share those feelings.• Abraham Lincoln has seen me in Washington D.C. so much in the last few years that he told Mary Todd that I lived there.• Each of our Tour managers has their own style and they do things differently on the trips that they manage. Each one may serve beverages differently, may sit in a different seat, add hu-mor to the trip in a different way, etc. The im-portant thing is that they put the customer first in all that they do. That is most important and required by Sunrise Tours.• Do people like the option of taking the bus to a cruise rather flying? Will we have more peo-ple taking a cruise if we offer a bus trip rather than a flight?• Our civil servants are at times no longer civil or no longer servants. Should we do away with them?• Charlie is planning our Alaskan adventure this

summer mile by mile. We are looking forward to the 30 day trip as there are differences be-tween Alaska and other states! I know that be-cause I have been to Alaska previously.• John Wilkes Booth lived in a boarding house in Washington D.C., which is now the site of the Newseum Museum at the corner of 6th Street and C Street in our Capital. John Wilkes Booth shot Abraham Lincoln at 10th Street and E Street in the Ford Theater.• Fuel costs and general economic conditions have financial gurus talking about the struggles of the worldwide travel industry. Sunrise Tours has never imposed a fuel surcharge on our trips and we do not have any plans to do so.• Our loyalty programs are just that, our attempt to give something back to our loyal customers. Be sure to evaluate our program to see if it fits your plans as we may do “groupons” instead.• Charlie and I are now more selective in the trips we take than we were in 2000 because we can. Day 1: Ohio We begin our trip eastward to our home for the night in Ohio. We’ve got the driving covered, so relax and enjoy the comfort of our deluxe mo-torcoach and the hospitality of your Sunrise Tour’s manager. D Day 2: New York City We travel highway 80 east across Pennsylvania passing through Moshannon State Forest and the northern area of the Appalachian Mountains. The straight and tall black cherry trees from this region are commonly used for fine furni-ture and cabinetry. This evening we arrive in Te-aneck, NJ and unpack our bags for our 3-night stay. B, L Day 3: New York City Today, we will explore New York City with a lo-cal guide. Spend the day exploring Central Park, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Fifth Avenue, reconstruc-tion of Ground Zero, watching people at Rock-efeller Center and visiting the unique area of Chinatown in lower Manhattan. The guide will provide insight into New York’s character and people, enhancing your NYC experience. B, D Day 4: New York City Today we will visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Also known as the “Met”, the museum offers over 5,000 years of art. Your tour will in-clude the newest exhibits on display and art to please all palettes. This afternoon we will enjoy a Broadway Theatre performance of the musi-cal Catch Me If You Can, followed by dinner in the Times Square area. After dinner, take in the fabulous sights of New York 70 stories up from the Top of the Rock Observation Deck! B, D Day 5: Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island We will see NYC from a historical perspective as we tour Ellis Island, where so many people be-

gan their lives in the “land of opportunity”. We will also visit the Statue of Liberty and enjoy the magnificent view of the New York skyline. After disembarking our ferry, we’ll travel to Long Is-land for a 2 night stay. B, D Day 6: Long Island With a local step-on guide, we will absorb the history, culture and beauty of the South Fork of Long Island. We will visit Montauk Point Light-house, a winery and East Hampton for lunch and shopping during the “Life Styles of the Rich and Famous” tour. We will give you the opportunity to wiggle your toes in the ocean today as well. Don’t forget your camera! The Inn Spot on the Bay restaurant will open their doors for our din-ner. The food is delectable, and the homemade ice cream, made by the owners themselves, tops the day in a “sweet” way. B, D Day 7: Long Island This morning, we will visit the OHEKA Castle built on the highest point on Long Island and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. During the gilded age of the 1920’s, the Castle was used as a summer home for entertainment. Afterwards, we will enjoy lunch in the Hunting-ton area before continuing to Harrisburg, PA for our overnight stay. B, L

Day 8: Harrisburg, PA We will visit The National Civil War Mu-seum this morning. It is the only museum in The United States that portrays the en-tire story of the American Civil War with-out bias to Union or Confederate causes. Afterwards, we will board our comfortable motorcoach for a relaxing afternoon as we pass through the rolling green hills of Penn-sylvania to overnight in central, Ohio. B, D Day 9: Return home We arrive home today. B

June 11-July 10, 2011Alaska is a popular destination, but most people visit on a cruise. While cruising is great, this land tour provides the opportunity to see a lot more of this pris-tine land. Plus, you can see Alaska without ever getting on a flight!

Alaska by MotorcoachDays 1-5: St. Louis to Dawson Creek, BC -Desti-nation Mile 0 of the Alaska Highway On day 1 we travel to Burnsville, MN just south of Minneapolis; on day 2 we continue north-west through Minnesota into North Dakota and overnight in Minot – Why not? The third day takes us into the province of Saskatchewan where we visit its provincial capital Regina, home to the world famous Royal Canadian Mounted Police training academy, and overnight in its largest city Saskatoon, which lies on the South Sas-katchewan River. On day 4 we travel the Yellowhead Highway into the province of Alberta and overnight in Edmonton, home of the largest mall in the world; on day 5, we continue northwest into British Columbia and overnight in Dawson Creek, the official begin-ning of the Alaska Highway. Enjoy a toast and dinner this evening to celebrate the beginning of our adventure on the Alaska Highway. Day 6-8: Dawson Creek to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory on the Alaska HighwayOur first 3 days on the Alaska Highway (cut through the bush in nine months during WWII but considerably improved since then!) begins with a photo stop at the Mile Zero Signpost and the Visitors’ Centre and Museum in Dawson Creek. We will overnight in Ft. Nelson and Wat-son Lake before reach-ing Whitehorse, capital city of the Yukon Terri-tory, on day 8. This sce-nic drive through rug-ged country will include photo, and short walk-ing trail stops, and places of interest such as the Sign Post Forest in Watson Lake. Day 9: Whitehorse to Dawson City on the Klondike HighwayTravel to lively Dawson City, Yukon, where the great 1886 gold rush began and provided world famous writers Jack London and Robert Service, Bard of the Yukon, inspiration for their works. Pan for gold and spend an evening at Diamond Tooth Gerties while in Dawson City.

Day 10: Top of the World and Taylor Highways to Tok, AlaskaFerry ride across the Yukon River then travel the “Top-of-the-World Highway” and Taylor High-way to Tok stopping in Chicken en route. June typically brings brilliant displays of arctic pop-

pies and lupine along much of this narrow, winding panoramic road. Welcome to Alaska! Day 11 FairbanksWe again travel on the Alaska Highway to its end in Delta Junction. We will stop for a “photo finish” and lunch at

Day 12-13: Denali National ParkThis morning cruise the Chena and Tanana Riv-

ers on the stern-wheeler Dis-covery and visit the home and kennels of the late four-time Iditarod winner Susan Butcher and take a na-tive Alaskan guided tour of the Chena In-dian Village.

Next travel the Skyline Drive overlooking the Tanana River Valley to Denali National Park and Preserve, home of majestic Mt. McKinley. Our 2-night stay at Denali Park Hotel in Healy allows you time to take the 8-hour shuttle bus trip to the newly completed Eielson Visitor Center 66 miles into the Park. On a clear day, Eielson of-fers magnificent views of Mt. McKinley. Shuttle buses stop for wildlife viewing, restroom stops and beautiful scenery and also give you the

Day 14: Denali to GirdwoodKeep on the lookout for wildlife, Mount McKin-ley and more spectacular views as we travel south on Parks Highway visiting the cities of Wasilla and Anchorage before ending the day at the Hotel Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, for a 3-night stay.Day 15: Seward and Cruise the Kenai FjordsAnother scenic drive as we travel Alaska’s first All-American Road to Seward to take a Kenai Fjords Wildlife cruise to see towering peaks, beautiful glaciers, emerald coves and more of the great Alaska wilderness and to visit Exit Gla-cier in Kenai Fjords National Park. Day 16: Hotel Alyeska Resort Relax and enjoy the day at the resort. A high-light will be a tram ride and lunch at the top of the mountains – what a view!Day 17: Ferry cruise across Prince William Sound Today we travel through the tunnel to the other side of the Chugach Mountains and the pictur-esque town of Whittier on the shores of Prince William Sound. Here we will board the ferry and travel Alaska’s Marine Highway to Valdez. Often called “Switzerland of Alaska” and remem-bered as site of the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill, Val-dez is the terminal of the Alaskan pipeline. This eve-ning we overnight in Cop-per Center, AKDay 18: Wrangell St. Elias National Park and Kluane National Park to De-struction Bay.Another lovely drive as we pass Wrangell St. Elias National Park, the largest U.S. national park and then travel the Alaska Highway on a stretch that borders the Canadian Kluane Na-tional Park. Overnight in Destruction Bay.Day 19: Haines Highway and fast ferry to Skag-wayAnother border crossing into Alaska as we trav-el to Haines going through lush coastal rain for-est and the St. Elias Mountains to Haines, AK before boarding a fast ferry for a 45 minute ride to Skagway, “Gateway to the Klondike” and our overnight destination.Day 20: White Pass and Yukon Railroad plus the Alaska Marine Highway Step back in time and soak up the flavor of the

gold rush days as we board the famous White Pass and Yukon Railroad built during the Klon-dike Gold Rush. It climbs along the shoulders of sheer granite mountains and over beautiful gorges. A little more time to ex-plore this coastal city before we will board the M/V Matanuska and begin our journey on the Alaska Marine Highway. Settle into your 2-berth inside cabin for a 2-night stay. For the night owls or adventuresome of our group, you have an optional excursion into Juneau during the 11:15pm-2:15am ferry stop in Juneau. Day 21: Marine Highway – Petersburg, Wrangell, KetchikanEnjoy a full day cruising Alaska’s inside passage, visiting with Alaskan locals, dining in the cafete-ria and listening to informative talks given by an onboard naturalist. Short stops will be made in Petersburg, Wrangell and Ketchikan.

Day 22: Prince Rupert to SmithersAn early morning arrival, breakfast and a little sightsee-ing in Prince Rupert before we travel along Skeena River and by the Seven Sisters Moun-tains before coming to Smith-ers, BC for our overnight stay.

Day 23-25: Prince George, Jasper and Radium Hot SpringsWe travel through the Caribou and Rocky Mountains visiting Jasper, Banff and Kootenay National Parks with overnight stays in Prince George, Jasper and Radium Hot Springs. Gor-geous scenery, a lunch at Chateau Lake Louise, and a dip in the hot springs are some of the highlights of these three days. Day 26-30: Journey home through Montana, South Dakota, and Iowa Overnight stays in Missoula and Billings, Mon-tana, the Badlands area of South Dakota, and Sioux City, IA before arriving back in St. Louis. Visits to a Smoke Jumper school, Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument and the Bad-lands of South Dakota are some of the high-lights of this homeward stretch.

Day 1: Grand Haven, MIToday we depart St. Louis aboard a luxury motorcoach and travel north through Illi-nois to the historic town of Grand Haven, MI along the scenic shores of Lake Michi-gan and the Grand River. This evening we’ll enjoy waterfront dining in the heart of Grand Haven! DDay 2: Grand Traverse BayWe’ll browse charming Grand Haven, known as “Coast Guard City, USA”, its sandy beach and mid-nineteenth century light-house. D, B, DDay 3: Riggins, IDThis morning as our journey heads south to Riggins, ID for a two-night stay, we will drive through Palouse country with its golden wheat, lentil and barley fields, a six mile corridor of majestic Great White Pines, Lewiston at the confluence of the Clearwater and Snake Rivers and along the mighty Salmon River. We’ll stop along the way to view Port Lewiston barges and this charming town. Then we’ll visit the “Heart of the Monster” landmark to learn of its impor-tance to the Nez Perce Indians. B, DDay 4: Hell’s CanyonToday’s adventure begins at Pittsburg Landing for a scenic jet boat ride on the whitewaters of the Snake River in Hell’s Canyon, the deepest river gorge in North America! On this 3-day trip to Southwest Missouri we will visit Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield where the first major Civil War battle west of the Mississippi River was fought in August 1861 and Pea Ridge National Military Park (most intact Civil War battlefield in the country) where one of the most piv-otal Civil War battles was fought in March 1862 to decide the fate of Missouri. Visits to these two parks and attendance at the Re-enactment by the Western Division of the Blue-Gray Alliance to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Wilson’s Creek will give us a better under-standing of the historical role the state of Missouri played during the Civil War.

B, D Day 4: Moosonee, ON There is no road system to Moosonee so, this morning, it’s “all aboard” the Polar Bear Ex-press train to travel 186 miles to the edge of the Arctic through rugged forests and wetlands, and across mighty rivers once navigated by ab-originals, explorers and fur traders. Enroute you will have complete access to a new audio tour that was developed in conjunction with the Dis-covery Channel to aid you in learning about the area while on the train and in Moosonee. This evening, after dinner, we will join our Cree Guide as he navigates us on the Moose River (one of the few rivers which flows south to north) for a Sunset Boat Tour of the great Moosonee island while viewing a terrific sunset! We will over-night in Moosonee at the EcoLodge. B, D Day 5: Moose Factory, ON This morning, wake to the smell of fresh north-ern air as we board the boat with a Cree guide and travel by water to St. James Bay! You will be able to watch the Fresh Water mixing with the Salt Water as you approach the Bay. After lunch, we will visit Moose Factory Island, the oldest settlement in Ontario, docking at rough-ly the same spot Charles Lindbergh landed his floatplane in 1931! Our guided bus tour of this island community will include ancient relics of the fur trade, Centennial Park Museum and the St. Thomas Church and Banneck Bread tasting, made by a local Cree woman. This morning we’ll begin our journey retracing their steps at this #1 National Trail Site of re-constructed Camp DuBois, then continue across Missouri. As we travel by luxury motorcoach, we will imagine the challenges of this difficult journey as the expedition made its slow ascent against the swift current of the Missouri River. In addition to your Sunrise Tours tour manager, we will have a Lewis & Clark historian on board to answer questions and provide information. LDay 2: Sioux City, NEAs we continue along the Missouri River, we’ll visit the Missouri River Basin Lewis and Clark In-terpretive Center to get a glimpse of the more than 300 flora and fauna discoveries. Benton, the last stop for steamboats coming from St. Louis in the 1800’s! Our next 2 nights are spent in Great

Falls, MT. B, DDay 7: Great Falls, MTThe Expedition took 32 days to portage equip-ment and canoes around five formidable falls in the area. Today we we learn more about this challenge on our visit to the L & C Interpretive Center and the portage sites as well as visit American western artist C. M. Russell’s Muse-um. B, DDay 8: Missoula, MTToday we take a boat ride between giant cliffs cut by the Missouri River and visit Missouri Headwaters State Park. Care to climb a cliff and stand where Lewis saw the confluence of the Jefferson, Madison and Gallatin Rivers? Then we continue through the mountains in Shosho-ne territory where Lewis & Clark secured horses to cross the Rocky Mountains. Overnight in Mis-soula, MT. B, DDay 9: Orifino, IDToday we travel along the Nez Perce trail through the Bitterroot Range, the worst part of the journey for the expedition. Day 1: Lexington, KYWe travel across Kentucky to Lexington for an overnight stay. We’ll cap off our evening in style as we drive through Kentucky Horse Park’s “Southern Lights” holiday show. DDay 2: Greenbrier ResortAfter a full breakfast, we will travel to the award-winning Greenbrier Resort. Home to distin-guished guests since 1776, this hotel is located in White Sulphur Springs, WV in the beautiful Allegheny Mountains. We’ll arrive in time to en-joy their daily afternoon tea and holiday con-cert. What a treat! After a tour of the grounds, relax in the elegantly decorated guest rooms or in the magnificent lobbies by a cozy fireplace. You will have the option of touring The Bunker (additional cost), a former U.S. Government Re-location hideaway facility from the Cold War. Our four-course dinner will be in the main din-ing room (where coats and ties are required) with sparkling chandeliers and stately columns. After dinner continue to soak up the charm of the Greenbrier with an evening entertainment or a swim in the pool. B, DDay 3: Greenbrier ResortWe awake to The Greenbrier and it’s incred-ible winter wonderland décor throughout the resort. After breakfast in the main dining room, you will have time to shop in the dozens of bou-tiques, and/or enjoy an optional activity (at an additional cost) such as a carriage or sleigh ride or a one-of-a-kind spa service. This afternoon, a colonial Christmas awaits us as we journey to Williamsburg, VA for the next 2 nights. Combin-ing nostalgia and charm, we are certain to feelthe magic that Colonial Williamsburg has put

into the Christmas season for decades. B, DDay 4: Williamsburg, VASince the first organized Christmas celebration drew visitors to Colonial Williamsburg in 1936,nothing can match the excitement and grandeur of a Christmas season in Williamsburg. Today, we will spend the day at Colonial Williamsburg, all dressed up for the holidays. We’ll have com-plete access to explore Colonial Williamsburg’s hundreds of recreated and restored buildings, sites and exhibits including the Governor’s Pal-ace. We will enjoy a delicious lunch at the his-toric Shield’s Tavern where servers still wear pe-riod dress as they did in the 1800’s. The day will include activities which make the history books come alive right before our eyes! B, LDay 5: The HomesteadToday we travel to one of the world’s finest Re-sorts. Since 1766, the opulent National Historic Landmark Homestead Resort has offered an in-comparable retreat to its visitors. Princes and Presidents, including Thomas Jefferson, have soaked in its mineral spring waters, and if you bring a bathing suit, you can too! Sit around the immense Christmas Tree, sipping tea in the elegant foyer of this grand hotel. We will treat ourselves to a delightful dinner complete with musicians playing. Feel free to tap your toes or even dance to a number or two! After dinner, you are welcome to relax or even enjoy a movie in their in-house theater. B, DDay 4: Opryland Nashville, TNAfter breakfast, we’ll indulge ourselves with a return visit to the Biltmore Estate. Enjoy the gardens, and the House before travelling to Nashville, Tennessee, our third Holidayville. We’ll settle into the acclaimed Opryland Hotel for our evening’s stay. Under climate-controlled glass atriums, we’ll be surrounded by nine acres of lush indoor gardens, winding rivers and path-ways, and sparkling waterfalls where we can unwind, explore, shop, dine, and be entertained to our heart’s content. Day 1: Chicago in its FinestUpon arrival in Chicago we will explore the sights with a local guide. Highlights will include architectural landmarks of the Loop, Millenni-um Park, the city’s spectacular lakefront as well as a peek into some of the city’s neighborhoods. After dinner, it’s up to the 103rd floor of the Wil-lis Tower for a view from the Skydeck. As the 3rd largest building in the world, we’ll enjoy our views of the twinkling landscape. Overnight for 2 nights in downtown Chicago. DDay 2: Feeling the holiday spirit!We will view the famous elaborate trimmings and animated windows of Macy’s (formally Marshall Fields) before we shop one of the 13 floors! Look for “The Great Tree” (you won’t miss this 2 ½ story spectacle) sparkling with over 1,000 handmade ornaments and you will find our spot for lunch. The Walnut Room wel-comes us for a nostalgic Christmas Lunch as it has since the early 1900’s. After lunch, we will visit the Christkindlmarket. Touted as one of

the most authentic Christkindlmarkets in the western world, you will think a bit of Germany has been airlifted to downtown Chicago as you shop for a unique gift, sip gluhwein or German bier, and sample the array of German food. Af-terwards, we are off to the Goodman Theater. For 31 years, the Goodman Theater has invited holiday-goers to a performance of A Christmas Carol. This production is sure to put us in the holiday spirit! B, LDay 3: Christmas around the WorldThis morning, we will visit the Museum of Sci-ence and Industry as it comes alive with holi-day flair by featuring it’s “Christmas Around the World” display. More than 50 trees are decorated to reflect different ethnic culture and traditions from around the world. We will also tour the U-505 exhibit. The only German sub-marine captured by the US Navy during WWII, the U-505 tour offers an interactive exhibit and an opportunity to walk on board. B

Day 1: Fly into Albany, NYWe fly to Albany, NY and kick off our holiday ex-perience with a visit to the Berkshire Museum and Festival of Trees; a unique display of 100 Christmas trees each decorated with the heart and soul of the local community! After din-ner with a local flare, we will overnight in Bar-rington, MA. DDay 2: Norman Rockwell ChristmasThis morning we will visit the charming town of Stockbridge, MA, whose Main St. inspired one of Norman Rockwell’s best known illustrations. It will feel like we are in the painting as we ex-plore this quaint town. Norman Rockwell’s museum is our next stop before we enjoy a scrumptious Christmas lunch at the historic Red Lion Inn. This afternoon, we travel north to the Yankee Candle Flagship Store for some holiday shopping. This evening, it’s time to feel jolly as we enjoy a 4-course dinner followed by caroling and a visit from a very special friend. B, L, DDay 3: Vermont’s delightsAfter a hearty breakfast, we will depart with a local guide to the Danforth Pewter Company for a demonstration and the Vermont Soap Factory for a look at how organic soaps are made. This is the area where the Bob Newhart Show was filmed and we will see this special home. Next

is a visit to one of Vermont’s tastiest attractions: Dakin Farms. We will learn the production of their gourmet meats and cheeses complete with delicious samples for all! This afternoon we arrive at the Von Trapp Family Lodge in time for afternoon tea and cookies and our two-night stay. This evening we will savor a 3-course dinner followed by a viewing of the movie “The Real Maria”. B,DDay 4: “…these are a few of my favorite things.”Today we explore the area around the Lodge. The Morse Sugar Farm will host us and teach about the history of sugaring, the production of maple syrup, and in true VT tradition, we will experience a wonderful sugar-on-snow! After some time for lunch on your own and shopping in Stowe, we will tour the Cold Hollow Cider Mill where you will see cider being produced year round. We will return to the Trapp estate for a horse drawn-sleigh ride (weather permit-ting) and tea and cookies. After our 3-course dinner, a Von Trapp family member will delight us with her stories and songs! Day 1: Fly into Los An-gelesThis morning we’ll catch our flight into Los Angeles and check into the Marriott in Manhattan Beach, our comfortable home for the duration of the trip. DDay 2: Reagan Library, Behind the Parade ScenesThis morning, we’ll take a scenic drive along the coast and over the mountains to Simi Valley to enjoy a visit at the Ronald Reagan Library and Museum. This year, the newly renovated Reagan Library pays tribute to our 40th President with a special Centennial Celebration. There will be new engaging exhibits to honor his accomplish-ments and patriotic spirit. Enjoy lunch on your own in Old Pasadena before we go behind the scenes to see how the Rose Bowl floral floats are constructed. Then we’re off to tour the Queen Mary before our onboard evening of dinner and entertainment at the Tibbies. B, DDay 3: Bringing in the New YearThis morning we’ll take a journey through the Petersen Automotive Museum and explore one of mankind’s greatest achievements and obses-sions: the automobile. The museum, founded by Robert E Peterson (and publisher of Hot Rod and Motor Trend magazines), features the his-tory of cars beginning with a 1901 streetscape and showcases automobiles of glamour and ce-lebrity along with the Otis Chandler Motorcycle Collection. Whether you’re an avid car fan or not, you’ll leave this venue filled with nostalgia. Afterwards, we’ll visit the Getty Museum which offers ancient to modern art, beautiful, tran-quil gardens in a dramatic architectural setting. We’ll enjoy spectacular vistas of the hills and Pa-cific Ocean in the distance before returning to our hotel. You’ll have time to watch some foot-ball games or relax by the pool. This evening a special New Year’s Eve celebration is planned to

bring in the New Year! Dancing! Singing! What will it be? The evening is a mystery as is the coming year! B, DDay 4: Los Angeles sightseeingToday we’ll spend the day exploring Los Angeles with a local guide. After lunch, we’re in for a treat as we tour the Crystal Cathedral, home base of the Hour of Power television ministry. The cathedral is rec-ognized for its glass structure and contemporary architecture and featured on The History Chan-nel. Afterwards, you’ll have leisure time before a delicious dinner and retiring for the night. B, DDay 6: Return homeBefore catching our return flight to St. Louis, we will have time for last minute souvenir shopping, or a walk along the Santa Monica pier or prom-enade before our flight home. In the afternoon the festivities begin at the Vermillionville Heritage and Folklife Park where live Cajun music and cultural demonstra-tions will captivate and a stop at the Acadian Cultural Center will educate. B, DDay 4: French Quarter This morning as we make our way to New Or-leans, we’ll tour the only place in the world where the general public can walk aboard an au-thentic offshore drilling rig and hear real life sto-ries at the International Petroleum Museum. Afterwards, we get face to face with alligators on a swamp boat tour en route to New Orleans. Once in the Big Easy, we’ll take in the historic Jackson Square known as ‘Place d’Armes’, home of an open-air artist colony before checking into our hotel for a two-night stay in the French Quarter of New Orleans. B, DDay 5: New Orleans, LAWe’ll begin this day with a visit to The National WWII Museum, founded by noted writer and historian Stephen E. Ambrose. We’ll experi-

Continuing down the coast dotted with lighthouses, we arrive in Bandon, OR for our overnight stay. B, DDay 6: Hellgate Canyon on the Rogue RiverSoak in more views of the coast before we jour-ney east to Grant’s Pass. Today we travel through the Umpqua National Forest where verdant stands of hemlock and fir trees grace the land-scape to Crater Lake National Park, one of the most photographed lakes in the country, and al-ways a highlight of a visit to Oregon. CancellationsOur refund policy for cancellations varies according to the type of tour. Your deposit is fully refundable up to the final payment due date. On any cancellation made after final payment is due, we reserve the right to withhold monies for non-refundable ex-penses.All motorcoach: Full refund up to the day of departure for medical reasons except for non-refundable expenses to us. Many hotels, restaurants & activities require pre-payment.Fly/Coach: The motorcoach portion of the tour is fully refundable (except for non-refundable expenses incurred by us) up to the day before departure for medical rea-sons. The refund of the flight portion of the cost is dictated by the airline. If we can get a refund on the flight or find someone to use the ticket, we will certainly pass that refund on to you. However, if we cannot obtain a refund, we will be unable to re-fund that portion of the tour price.Cruise and International tours: Refund for cancellation of cruises and international tours depend on the cruise line or tour op-erator. Tips for the driver, tour managers, and step-on guides are left to the discretion of the traveler and should be in accordance with services received.Trip InsuranceFor 2 main reasons we highly recom-mend the purchase of trip insurance and can provide information on Berkley Insur-ance: 1) Trip interruption – There are cir-cumstances that can prevent passengers from fully participating in a tour and may require an early departure or extended stay. For example, if a passenger suffers

an injury that prevents the traveler from continuing on the tour, insurance will cover the cost of the extended stay, the cost of transportation home and the value of the missed tour (subject to claim submission and acceptance by Berkley Insurance). If you do not have insurance, you will per-sonally incur these costs and it can be very expensive. 2) Trip cancellation - If you are forced to cancel a tour for medical reasons (for you or an immediate family member), having insurance ensures a complete re-fund of monies paid (except for the cost of insurance). Sunrise cannot guarantee this because there are times when monies are paid on your behalf prior to departure.Pick-up points For each trip, we determine the pick-up points based on point requests. We have pick-up points to service the north, west, south and central areas of St. Louis metro-politan area and St. Charles and Illinois. All pick-up points allow parking for your ve-hicle. Sunrise’ pick up point partners offer the use of parking spaces during tour as a courtesy to Sunrise travelers. Neither Sun-rise Tours nor parking lot owners assume responsibility for incidents occurring to parked cars. You will be notified of which pick-ups we are using for your tour in a letter about 2 weeks prior to departure. If you would like to stay overnight before leaving on the tour, we can provide a hotel room at some of our pick-ups for a reduced rate. If our routing allows, we may pick up along the way in outlying areas. IdentificationA passport is required on any tour that leaves the United States, including Canada. Photo ID’s are required on all fly tours and recommended on all tours.Singles Requesting RoommatesIf you would like to go on tour with us, but do not have a roommate for a specific trip, let us know and we will match you with someone else (same sex of course). Just let us know at least 60 days before departure and we will room you with another traveler at the double rate. If there is no roommate available on the tour you request, you will still only have to pay the price of a double. If you decline the roommate assigned, you will be responsible for the single supple-ment. Of course, if you prefer to travel individually, you can still sign up for the sin-gle fare. This offer is not valid on cruises, and some select tours.

Method of PaymentsFor deposits we accept checks or cash. For final payment we accept Visa, Mastercard, check or cash.Seating on the MotorcoachSeating is assigned and will be rotated on a daily basis. Special seating requests are honored on the basis of availability. Paying the single fare does NOT ensure you will have a seat to yourself on the coach, it only ensures you a room by yourself.ResponsibilitySunrise Tours is not responsible for any in-jury, delay, loss or accident due to any act or negligence on the part of any person or company rendering services on any of our tours. We reserve the right to change any itinerary.
