    In today’s highly competitive environment, companies have started to realise that the implementation of a robust asset management strategy is key for the company development.

    Asset management have to prove their return on investment before being considered from the board. New regulations are coming into place, customer expectations have changed, technology is evolving extremely fast and big data is not only a buzzword anymore but also one of the main challenges faced today.

    Proactive Management of Your Infrastructure Asset Lifecycle to Drive More Value

    In this case study, Jim Lightfoot, COO, E.ON Generation shared insights into the changes E.ON have made over the past few years in response to external factors, whether profitability challenges, regulations or political landscape changes.. These changes vary but include re-negotiating contracts with key suppliers, focusing on new revenue streams and operating profitable assets differently to increase the return of investment.

    Asset Management, Customer Service and Innovation

    Tony Conway, Strategic Programme Director, United Utilities during the presentation outlined the changing landscape surrounding the water industry, United Utilities integrated approach to asset planning, the need to innovate and the learning opportunities available from exploring adjacent sectors.

    Aligning Asset Management Strategy with Wider Organisational Objectives

    Petr Stulc, Head of Group Asset Management, CEZ Czech Republic and Ian Costigan, Asset Management Director, Manchester Airports Group exposed the audience to innovative industry best practice in setting a coordinated asset management strategy – including aligning the asset management strategy of the company with customer experience requirements and the wider organisational objectives.

    Incorporating Customer Feedback into Asset Management Planning and How to Deliver the Plan Based on Customer Outcomes

    In this case study presentation, Mel Karam, Director of Asset Management, Southern Water, explained how they have adapted their asset management approach and planned to incorporate customer feedback. Mel also elucidated the next step to share insights into how they will actually deliver this plan based on customer feedback in practice and how to measure this.

    How to Get your Board On-board! Moving from an Operational to a Strategic Function, Delivering Added Value through Smart Asset Management and Getting Stakeholder Buy In

    Asset management in many organisations is considered to be a cost that needs to be minimised. So getting your CEO and the Board to understand the real benefits that smart asset management can bring to your organisation is a rather challenging task. During the interactive panel Dave Champness, Head of Strategic Asset Planning, United Utilities, Jean Lemaire, Director Asset Management, AKUO Energy and Jerri Loikkanen, Head of Strategy, Fortum Distribution engaged in a candid discussion with the audience to share best practice in communicating their case to the board and how they have elevated the asset management function into the boardroom.
