The year 3 team would like to thank you for a

very fun bonfire party, in spite of the rain! We

had hot dogs, hot chocolate lavished with

cream and marsh mellows, waved sparklers

and sang camp fire tunes. This has inspired

many written pieces, including a recount, a

poem and a diary entry. This was part of year

3s fundraising for this term and we are de-

lighted to say that we managed to raise over

one hundred pounds! This money will go

towards the funding of upcoming trips for the

year group.

The first meeting of the reading café was a

great success. Over fifteen people attended

and we enjoyed reading books and performing

poems to each other. If you would like to take

part next week please come along on Monday

after school. We are open until 4.30 and will

have refreshments available.

We would particularly like to say well done to

Alex (class 1) for settling into her new class

so well. In class 2, Miss Tynan would like to

celebrate Logyna for the amazing effort she

puts into reading at home. In class 3, Mrs

Jackson would like to celebrate Alicia for

writing her own rhythmic poem

This week we have had a fundraiser have had

a fundraiser this week for the Christmas box-

es. The goal for each class is to fill a mini-

mum of two boxes. These boxes will be sent

to children who are not as fortunate as we are

at Christmas. Any donations such as toys,

cuddly toys, sweets, toothbrushes and station-

ary would be gratefully received. We are

hoping to collect the most show boxes as a

year group.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

celebrate the work of Class 7, Class 8 and Class 9.

Year 5 students really enjoyed the campfire night organ-

ised by the Year 5 team to bring the topic of

close. The children would like to thank our resident Bear

Grylls (Mr. Dann Hutton) for kindly setting up the camp-

fire for us to roast our tasty marshmallows over. This was

a real treat and we would like to thank you for all your

support. Other activities included Bush Tucker Trials with

revolting creepy crawlies (all tried and tested by Miss.

Courtney) and other team building activities arranged by

Mr. Burnett. Check out some of the pictures of Alex, Ruby

and Liam enjoying some tasty smores.

With

their attention to the magical world of Harry Potter

have now been arranged into their appropriate houses

(Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Slytherin and Gryffindor) and

have toasted to a great term over a big mug of Butterbeer!!

We also wrote some top secret messages in invisible ink

and made some Wizard Profiles. More recently, we started

our next piece of writing on

tion

lie Edwards in Class 7 for making excellent contributions

to their Talk for Writing actions every day. Keep up the

good work!!

I would like to congratulate Jaden Ebol for his impressive

knowledge of his times tables. I would encourage every-

one to make this a focus at home while we work through

multiplication and division in our daily arithmetic lessons.

Finally, a massive well done to Tommy Austin in meeting

his math

working with negative numbers when dealing with money

and temperature. Tommy showed independence in his

learning when he completed this as a homework task to get

his gold star! Well done Tommy, keep this up!!

During our Ancient Egypt topic, the Year 4 children

discovered how to mummify a pharaoh, how to build a

pyramid and even how to prepare for the afterlife! They

also compared ancient and modern Egyptian life, focus-

ing on the role of the Nile and the Water

Cycle.

Now, the year 4 children have officially left

the deserts of Ancient Egypt and have

launched themselves into the enchanting topic of ‘Once

Upon A Time’. By immersing themselves in a wide

range of magnificent Fairy tales, the children will enliv-

en their imagination and use this enthusiasm to fuel their

own magical tales.

We will be incorporating the subjects of Computing, Art

and Design and Music to complete our next exciting

project – a 3D Diorama! For this project, we need your

help! Please collect as many empty shoe-

boxes as you can and send them into class

with your child.

In Science, we will be exploring with sound and under-

standing how it works by devising experiments to inves-

tigate how sounds are made and how we are able to hear

them.

The Year 4 team would particularly like to congratulate

the following students on their positive work ethic:

Lacey-Mae and Lacey Hardie Delderfield, for their

excellent speaking and listening skills, Donart Begaj,

who completed extra writing and has taken great pride in

his work, Macie Copping, for taking part in class discus-

sions and for consistently improving her writing, Bailey

Currie, for his growing confidence and bravery when

speaking to the entire Year group (including staff) and

finally, Mihail Grosu for becoming a more active mem-

ber of the class! Well done!

Polite Reminder:

Please continue reading with your child every night and

recording it in their contact books

Year 5 have just completed the topic of ‘Survival’.

Through this topic we saw some violent volcanoes, perfect

parachutes and smoky smores. As we move on to our next

topic of ‘Magic and Mystery’ we want to reflect on and

celebrate the work of Class 7, Class 8 and Class 9.

Year 5 students really enjoyed the campfire night organ-

ised by the Year 5 team to bring the topic of ‘Survival’ to a

With ‘Survival’ done and dusted, Year 5 have now turned

their attention to the magical world of Harry Potter

through the topic of ‘Magic and Mystery.’ All the students

have now been arranged into their appropriate houses

(Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Slytherin and Gryffindor) and

have toasted to a great term over a big mug of Butterbeer!!

We also wrote some top secret messages in invisible ink

and made some Wizard Profiles. More recently, we started

our next piece of writing on ‘How to make Polyjuice Po-

tion’. A big shout out goes to Madison Wilkins and Char-

lie Edwards in Class 7 for making excellent contributions

to their Talk for Writing actions every day. Keep up the

good work!!

I would like to congratulate Jaden Ebol for his impressive

knowledge of his times tables. I would encourage every-

one to make this a focus at home while we work through

multiplication and division in our daily arithmetic lessons.

Finally, a massive well done to Tommy Austin in meeting

his math’s target already! Tommy was given the task of

working with negative numbers when dealing with money

and temperature. Tommy showed independence in his

learning when he completed this as a homework task to get

his gold star! Well done Tommy, keep this up!!

We are coming to the end of our topic ‘Wonder’.

Pupils have enjoyed reading the book and work-

ing around the topic. We had a successful exhibi-

tion where pupils shared their learning with

parents. Thank you to all the parents who joined

us for our exhibition. In October, we had the

utmost privilege to welcome Paralympian Kristy

Howells who shared her journey throughout her

career. She inspired so many children. She was

very impressed by the reception given to her by

children in Luton Junior School. Well done to all

of you!

We will be embarking on our new topic very

soon. It will be linked to Shakespeare’s play

‘Macbeth’. We value our pupil voice and encour-

age children to take ownership of their learning.

Children in Year 6 are co- constructing their

learning with teachers whereby they a say have

on what they would to learn and explore further.

Well done to Brooke Holmes for moving up a

stage in Maths. Also congratulations to Rooney

Winslow for showing good behaviour for learn-

ing and persevering with his challenges. Another

pupil who has been doing consistently well is

Sofia Pohlodkova. She has been striving to do her

her best in all subjects and contributing to class

achievements. We are also proud of Grace Go-

van for continually aiming high in her writing.

Well done to Dyarko Antoncino for his well

thought through contributions in reading. Well

done to Denas Gurskis for being a responsible

learner and using adult support to accelerate his

learning. Congratulations to Madison Holmes for

her great progress in her writing and for transfer-

ring her learning in grammar to her writing.

We are looking forward to our new topic which

will be full of more achievements. Keep working

hard and showing growth mindset qualities .
