Description:
University Operations Services (UOS) is a leader in sustainability. The nature of our programs and services allows us a unique opportunity to improve the environment, and it’s something we are deeply committed to doing. Recently Harvard pledged to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions 30% by 2016. Meeting this aggressive goal will require the collective efforts of all students, faculty, and staff including UOS. We will continue to improve the efficiency of our operations, develop innovative solutions for reducing GHG emissions, and engage the Harvard community on environmental issues. We’re also working closely with the newly created Office for Sustainability; an organization born from the Harvard Green Campus Initiative which for nearly a decade was an integral part of UOS.
