Summary of Activities during “Swachhta Pakhwada”

(1st September to 15th September, 2017)

Activity 1: Clean Campus Day Cleanliness drive was done by almost departments of the University on 01st

September, 2017; whole of the University campus was covered and students from

various departments, faculty members, staff and sanitation workers were involved

and actively participated in this activity. Whole campus was cleaned and the non-

degradable waste like plastics/glass etc. were collected and removed from the campus

premises. More than 600 students participated in the cleanliness drive in the campus

making it very successful. Following departments were participated in this activity:

Activity 2 : Clean Hostel Day Cleanliness drive was done by all hostels of the University on 2nd September, 2017; the

student also participated in cleaning their hostels and removing any type of garbage,

plastic wastes etc. The inhabitants of the hostels cleaned their hostels in the cleanliness

drive. More than 200 hostelers participated in the cleanliness drive and make it very

successful. Following hostels were participated in this activity:

Activity 3 : Green Campus Day

Plantation Drive was carried out in the Botanical Garden of the University on 3rd

September, 2017 in which more than 100 trees were planted by the faculty, officers

and students of the University. The trees planted are indigenous to our country and

some of them are very rare and on the verge of extinction.

Activity 4 : Clean Mess Day

Swachhta Pakhwada was celebrating in all hostels and performed a Clean Mess

Day activity on dated 04/09/2017. In which, following events are covered:

1. Clean dining area along with Mess by using Bleach and detergent.

2. Checked all foo grains, storage condition, spoilage stage and soon.

3. Washing area property checked and directed to mess contractor to dispose of

garbage by using 3 types of dustbins such as green, yellow and blue for

maintain eco-friendly environment.

4. Checked all mess worker take care of personal hygiene and sanitation while

doing food preparation and they are carried apron & head cap always.

BBAU, NCC cadets and NSS students visited nearby Aurangabad Zagir and Khalsa

village for cleanliness and explained the concept of cleanliness to the villagers.

Activity 9 : Care for the surroundings: Visit to markets nearby to

study the systems for cleaning

BBAU, NCC Cadets and NSS students visited Bangla Bazar a nearby market place for

cleanliness drive and explained the concept of cleanliness to the various shopkeepers.

Activity 10 : Care for the surroundings: Visit to Govt. hospital to study

the hygiene and systems for disposal of garbage and hospital wastes

BBAU, NCC Cadets and NSS students visited Lok Bandhu Gov. Hospital, Aashiyana,

lucknow for cleanliness drive.

Activity 13 : “Cleanest Hostel room” contest

A Cleanest Hostel room contest was organized by all girls and boys hostels. All hostels

inmates are come forward to participate in this contest and performed very well. They

are judge on their room cleanliness, presentation and how they follow hostel rules for

maintaining their room.

On fifteenth day closing ceremony of Swachhta Pakwada was organized for the

distribution of prizes and certificates for participants who take part in various activities

like Essay contest, Cleanest hostel room contest and Elocution contest.

Mass Pledge

Pledge was displayed in all departments and block of the University to spread the

awareness for “Swachhta”. Students also participated in spreading the awareness for

“Swachhta”.
