When assignments (class work or homework) are given, it is the student’s responsibility to place it in the in-box or upload the assignment to Edmodo/Schoology when finished. This policy will also be in effect when a substitute is present instead of Mr. Tuohy.

Students who destroy or lose books/materials will be financially responsible. Students are responsible for all missed work during absences. The responsibility for initiating make-up

work, due to an excused absence, and turning in assignments rests with the student immediately upon returning to school. It is the student’s responsibility to prove the absence with a yellow excused absence note issued by Christiana High School. All work missed will be given to the student at that time. Failure to provide an excused note for an absence will cause the student to receive a zero on the assignments missed as well as a deduction in weekly participation points.

Students are not permitted to consume food or drinks (except water) in the classroom. The instructor, not the bell, dismisses students. Students are to remain in their seat until the bell rings. Please keep all book bags and other personal items underneath the desks and not in the isle ways. Cell phones, iPods, and other electrical devices are not permitted to be used in the classroom. All

electrical devices are to be turned off and placed in an enclosed container. Students are encouraged to participate in DECA. This club is designed to help students learn leadership

and cooperative work skills. National dues and activity fees for this club are $10.00. More information can be found on the following pages.

Behavioral Expectations

Students are expected to begin work when the late bell rings. Students must raise hands to speak or ask questions during lectures and class discussions unless

otherwise stated. Students are free to speak quietly during group work about the materials being presented. Students may not speak during individual work unless otherwise instructed.

Students are expected to follow all class rules and regulations. Students are expected to follow the teacher’s instructions at all times. Students are expected to treat each other and the teacher with respect including using appropriate

language at all times. Students must complete their own work. If you cheat or attempt to cheat on an assignment, you will

be given a zero (0) and this grade can not be made-up. Your parent/guardian will be notified of any violation.

Academic dishonesty is not acceptable. Academic dishonesty includes sharing your school work with another student, copying another students’ school work, copying from the internet, etc.

Some assignments will require research from the internet. The internet is for school use only and not to be used for personal use.

The binder may be graded at the end of each marking period and may count towards extra credit of their overall grade.
