2. 2. In a faraway place, on a highmountain-top, lived ashimmer-shiny dragon namedSylvia.
3. 3. But never found any other dragons. Sylvia was lonely.
4. 4. She gave a big,blustery sigh.Humfff!And there, under theleaves, was a small,surprised bird!
5. 5. Bird was building a nest, andSylvia thought she might be able tohelp.Bird and Sylvia became friends.
6. 6. Being together was so much fun.
7. 7. Bird and Sylvia spent all theirdays together, just like friends do.
8. 8. But when Bird went to chit-chatter with the otherbirds, Sylvia felt alone.Bird belonged with the other birds but Sylvia wasdifferent. She had no dragons to belong with.
9. 9. Sylvia crept away. She gazed up at the night sky. Maybethere were other dragons, living on the moon? She could goand see, but the thought of leaving Bird made Sylvia feelsadder than ever.But Bird saw that Sylvia was unhappy. She hadan idea. They would go to the moon together!
10. 10. Off they set, racing up through the clear blue skies!
11. 11. But as Bird and Sylviawhirled higher and higherBird grew coldAnd tiredSuddenly she began totumbleDownDownDown through the clouds
12. 12. With a cry Sylvia swooped tocatch her tiny friend andgently carried her home.And there they stayed
13. 13. for Sylvia realised she didntneed other dragons to be happy.The best friend in the worldwas loving, loyal Bird.
