Synopsis ofThe Fray – You Found Me

CharactersThe music video ‘The Fray-You found me’ we intend to have a young female teenager as the main character, she will be presented through a variety of camera angles and movements to display the narrative for the soundtrack. An example of a camera shot to use is ‘Point of view shot’ this will allow the audience to be positioned as the main character and visually see what she’s looking at. Further consideration has been made by choosing not to reveal the females face until the end of the music video. This raises mystery and enchants the audience to be captivated with the narrative. As the music video is filmed in a public location our group intends to film the audience in certain scenes, this requires asking permission beforehand. Things we may ask the public to do is act as normal as they could doing their own activities as if we were never filming. Activities we wish to insert is people walking/running to their platform (Liverpool Street Station) as if they are late and running out of time. This will encourage our narrative as it will give a clear understanding about what is happening and where the music video is located

Location• Locations decided for the music video consists of two locations which is Liverpool

Street and Hyde park. These contrasting rural and urban locations recreates the indie rock theme as indie rock bands are typically filmed in industrial settings. A range of camera shots will be used to show provisional information of the two locations, these are exterior shots, time lapse, establishing shot, close ups and extreme close ups. These variety of shots will enforce a powerful, expressive and visual statement of the storyline in seeking hope. As a group we decided to show the setting whilst characters are within the frame a particular shot we intend to explore in depth is over the shoulder shot. This is mainly due to the characters face not being revealed throughout the music video until near the end, this results the camera constantly being behind over watching what the main character sees and experiences.

Narrative• Instantly engaging the character is our

immediate intention and as a result we intend to have a mysterious opening and middle section where the main characters face is not exposed to the camera. As mentioned the initial aim is to go on a progressive journey with the main character in seeking hope where in life we may have been let down. Going through the young girls perspective in the two locations where she views people “finding” each other shows the connectional bond between people.

• Placement of props throughout the video is used to symbolise the lyrics, linking both visuals and lyrics visually communicates to the audience about important messages and focus points revealed and defined in the soundtrack and music video. An example of a symbolic object is a cross where in the end the main character finds the one (soul mate) which underlines the character being God.
