MA-1000 Moving AveragerThe Moving Averager is used to quantify nerve and muscle electrical activity.
This module comprises an adjustable gain input amplifier, precision full-wave rec-tifier, and selectable time-constant Moving Averager (Paynter Filter). The largerthe time constant, the greater the smoothing effect of the filter. Standard time con-stants are 50, 100, and 200mS; the values most often used for EMG and ENGrecording. TM-1000 Temperature Measurement ModuleThis microprocessor-based module accepts standard YSI-400 series thermistor
probes for measurements in the range 0 - 50oC, or 32 - 122oF. Temperature is dis-played on a digital readout in degrees C or F, and an analog output is provided forexternal recording. DC-936 Six-channel DC Buffer AmplifierThis module provides six independent DC buffer amplifiers, each with
adjustable gain, offset, and polarity. These amplifiers are used to boost, attenuate,offset, or invert signals going from one piece of equipment to another. Typicalapplications include adjusting signal levels for data acquisition systems. Gain andoffset are set using screwdriver-adjust potentiometers. CT-1000 CardiotachometerThe CT-1000 is an advanced, microprocessor-based instrument for the accu-
rate measurement of heart rate and beat-to-beat interval measurement. It has abuilt-in medical-grade isolation amplifier for direct ECG electrodes, and alsoaccepts high-level signals such as arterial BP. RIC-1000 Rate/Interval CounterThe RIC-1000 is a versatile instrument for measuring the frequency or inter-
val of pulse-type events. A crystal timebase provides resolution to 100uS. Thecount can be updated continuously, or at the end of each interval (sample/hold).This allows histogram frequency displays or trend lines. WD-1000 Time/Amplitude Window DiscriminatorThe window discriminator is used to separate single neuron action potentials
from multi-unit recordings. It can operate as a classic voltage amplitude windowdiscriminator, or as a time/amplitude discriminator. In the latter mode, the signalmust fall within a voltage and an adjustable time window. This permits separatingsimilar pulses that differ only in timing. Outputs are available from both windowlevels, a data output, and an independent trigger output for synchronizing the oscil-loscope trace. ALM-932 Two-Channel Alarm/MonitorMonitors the output of any two channels in the card-cage, and signals an alarm
condition if preset limits are exceeded. Adjustable high and low alarms are pro-vided for each channel. LED indicators show which alarm condition exists, and abeeper (switchable) provides an audible warning. Digital meters show signal volt-age, which can be calibrated to reflect “real-world” measurements. Logic outputsare provided for all alarms, and are accessible on the rear edge-card connector.

DF-932 Two-Channel DifferentiatorTwo channel processor that produces the first derivative of the input signal.
Useful in cardiac studies for creating dP/dt of pressure waveforms.The secondderivative (acceleration) can be produced by cascading the two channels. Ten cal-ibrated sensitivity settings cover the range 20 - 200V/s, where each setting corre-sponds to the input slope required to produce 1V output.

BPF-932 Two-Channel Bandpass FilterHigh-performance bandpass filter. High-pass settings from DC to 100Hz.
Low-pass settings 10Hz to 50kHz. Uses 2-pole active filters with Butterworthresponse for minimum amplitude distortions in passband. Overall gain is jumperselectable for X1 or X10. Useful for filtering transducer signals to reduce high-fre-quency noise, and for selective filtering of biopotentials such as EMG or EEG.

PI-1000 Respiratory IntegratorThe PI-1000 is a low-drift integrator intended primarily for respiratory airflow
studies. Two independent matched integrators allow a variety of breath-by-breathor cumulative volume waveforms to be produced. A wide time-constant range cov-ers the full range of animal and human measurements. A built-in low-pass filterreduces noise from valve flutter or transducer vibration. DI-1040 Eleven-channel Expander ModuleUsed with the Dataq WinDaq data acquisition system (and others) to provide
direct access to channels 6 through 16. It is always used in the sixth module slot(right-hand side), where its outputs are automatically fed to the rear panel 37-pinD-SUB connector. The DI-1040 is used with high-level signals, and is configuredby jumpers for +2.5, 5, or 10V input ranges. Custom gain settings can also be con-figured by resistor selection.

BL-1000 Blank module for custom instrumentationThis module is for those desiring to create custom circuitry using the same

The PS-1000/A-1 has arange of +70cmH2O, which is ideal for respiratory pressure mea-surements. Model PS-1000/A-004 has a range of +10cmH2O, andis used with a pneumotach for respiratory airflow measurements.
DTX Blood Pressure TransducersThese are industry standard, solid-state, electrically isolated

Input cables, electrodes, and misc.A variety of pre-wired input cables, ECG and EMG electrodes, and adapter cables is available. Un-wired input
connectors are supplied with each amplifier, ready for custom wiring. Pre-wired cables are are 3m long, with 2mmpin jacks for electrode wire connection. General InformationSYSTEM 1000 is a flexible and economical modular instrumentation system. To use the modules described
here, you need a CC-1000 card-cage (six module size) or CC-1000/3 (three module size). Each comes with a uni-versal-input power supply. For benchtop placement, a handsome and rugged molded DeskTop Enclosure isavailalble.
SYSTEM 1000 can be used as a versatile, direct-connect signal conditioning front-end for your data acquisi-tion system. The CC-1000 card-cage has a DB-37 output connector that feeds the module output signals directlyto most data acquisition systems.

CC-1000 Six Module Card-CageThis is a rack-
mount or benchtopcard-cage that is thefoundation of anyS Y S T E M 1 0 0 0setup. It fits into astandard 19" equip-ment rack, andoccupies 3U (5.25") height. The card-cage holds up to six instrumentation modules of your choice. DC powerfor the modules is introduced via a DIN connector accessible from the rear of the chassis.
Individual channel inputs and outputs are available on the motherboard at the back of the chassis. A D-SUB37-pin connector also provides all channel outputs, and is directly compatible with the Dataq InstrumentsWinDAQ data acquisition system. A handsome molded desktop enclosure (Model DTE-1000) is available as anoption. Also available is a 3-module card-cage (Model CC-1000/3), with corresponding desktop enclosure(Model DTE-1000/3).

SYSTEM 1000 Power SupplyThis is the standard power supply furnished with the
CC-1000 card-cage. It is a universal input supply thataccepts 95-240VAC, and features a standard detachablepower cord. The output cable is 6' long and terminatedwith a DIN plug which mates with a jack on the rearpanel of the CC-1000 card-cage. This power supply hassufficient capacity to provide power to two CC-1000card-cages (up to 12 modules). To do this, modelCC-1000/ADP adapter cable is required.
