Summary Description:

A contributing element in the St. Michaels Historic District, this building is a two-story,

frame dwelling with a cross gable roof. The facade is three bays wide with a central entrance

and full width, one-story porch. The house is rectangular in plan; however, shed, flat, and

gable roofed additions have been added to the rear. The building rests on a brick pier

foundation and is clad with asbestos siding.

Contributing Resource Count: 206 W. Chew Avenue St. Michaels Historic District The St. Michaels Historic District (T-577) nomination does not individually describe the resources within the district.

Constructed in the late-nineteenth century, this building is a two-story, frame dwelling with a cross gable roof. The facade is three bays wide with a central entrance and full width, one-story porch. The porch roof is supported by four Doric columns and two pilasters abutting the structure. The entrance door is flanked by three-pane sidelights, and a four pane overhead transom. Each bay contains a two-over-two, double-hung sash window. There is also a small arched window in the front gable end. The building is rectangular in plan; however, shed, flat and gable roofed additions have been added to the rear. The building rests on a brick pier foundation and is clad with asbestos siding. The roof of the main block is covered with asphalt shingles, and the porch has a metal roof. The building has a wide cornice with returns on the gable ends. An exterior concrete block chimney is located on the rear elevation. This building is a contributing element of the St. Michaels Historic District.

Adjacent to the house is what appears to be a mid-twentieth century, gable front garage. This building has a concrete block foundation and is clad with asbestos siding.
