HOSPITALITY September 29, 2019 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time

St. John the Apostle A Stewardship Parish

The most vibrant stewardship parishes are those in which parishioners know that they are wel-

come, which fosters a sense of ownership and personal involvement in living stewardship in the parish family.

OUR SPONSOR OF THE WEEK (701) 852-3536

Stewardship Thought The sin of the rich man in today’s parable was not that he was rich, but that he failed to share his wealth with the beggar at his gate. He knew Lazarus, perhaps, walked by him every time he came in or out, but did nothing to relieve his suffering. Is there a Lazarus in my life? What am I doing to help?

SCRIP Seller Needed Saturdays One more person is needed to help parishioners purchase SCRIP after Saturday’s 5 pm Mass. Please call Monica, 839-7076 if you can help.

Holy Communion Ministers Needed You are needed to bring Holy Communion to

the homebound. To help with this ministry, please call ~ Margaret Kendall, 839-3953.

September 29 This is a day set aside to honor priesthood in the United States. Members of the Serra Club of North Central North Dakota are reminding parishioners that without priests, Mass could not be offered, and sacra-ments could not be celebrated. We have been particularly blessed in the Bismarck Diocese in the number of vocations (and we could use more), sadly the parishes across the United States without a resident priest pastor has sharply increased. Lets take time, especially on Sept. 29, to thank Fr. Richter for his service in our parish. His work never stops, and is a constant blessing to us. Catch him as he rushes about saying Mass, hearing confessions, baptiz-ing, teaching, confirming, and preaching, and say, “Thanks, Father, for your presence in my life.

Stewardship Thought Those who practice stewardship see themselves as caretakers of God’s gifts. They are grateful for what they have received and are eager to share their gifts out of love for God and one another.

Confirmation - Oct 13 Please keep our Confirmation Candidates in your prayers as they prepare to receive this sacrament on Sunday, October 13, at the 10:30am Mass, with Bish-op David D. Kagan presiding. ~ Monica
