Spring Testing Update All third year Hanna students will be taking ACT and Work Keys tests in April. The dates
below are very important for your student to be present at school. If at all possible,
please refrain from setting appointments for your students on these dates.
April 21—4th block all precoding of tests must be completed by students. If students don’t
complete the precode ahead of time, they will not be able to test on the 28th. We will
have some time to get this made up with students, but it is best if they can participate in
this April 21. This process takes about 1 hour.
April 28—ACT testing will take nearly 5 hours and we will begin as quickly as possible in
the morning. It is mandatory that we will begin no later than 9:00, but we plan to begin
around 8:30 which would help us be as close to schedule as possible regarding lunch. The
later we start, the later we will finish. Once booklets are distributed that morning,
students cannot be allowed into the room, so it will be important for students to arrive
on time to school. This will affect our normal lunch times, but we will make sure our
schedule will accommodate all students. As a reminder, this is an opportunity for your
student to take the ACT for free and potentially have their scores sent to a college. It is
great practice for this college entrance exam.
April 29—Work Keys testing will take around 3 hours, so we plan to begin around 8:30
as we will for ACT testing. This test is geared towards Work Place skills and will result in
your student earning a level of certificate based on their test. Many employers will take a
Work Keys certification into consideration in the hiring process.
There is only one chance at making up each of these required state tests, so being present
on the original date is in your student’s best interest.
May 12—Make-up testing for ACT. This will take the same time as it would on April 28th.
This only affects students not able to test April 28th.
May 13—Make-up testing for Work Keys. This will take the same time as it would on
April 29th. This only affects students not able to test April 29th.

Golf Team
Jon-Michael Kubu, Graham Farmer, Kameron Rumsey, Brady Cox, Jake Miller, Coleman Farrow
The Yellow Jacket Golf Team moved to 5-0 in the region and 5-0 overall with a 33 shot
victory over Laurens on Monday. The 151 stroke total for the Yellow Jackets was a
season low, despite playing at the Laurens home course at Lakeside Golf Club. Senior
Jon-Michael Kubu had his best round of the season posting a 1 under par round of 35.
Fellow senior Graham Farmer shot a solid 38, while juniors Jake Miller and Brady Cox
both shot 39. The Jackets play Wren on Tuesday before returning to region competition
on Wednesday versus Woodmont and Greenville High.
The team also beat Laurens 152 - 189 at Hanna's home course Cobb’s Glen. The Jackets
got the lowest 9 hole round in recent memory from Senior Graham Farmer who shot a 4
under par 32. His round included 5 birdies (one which could have been an eagle as his
third shot on the par 5 8th hole hit the flagstick) and one bogey. Juniors Jake Miller and
Brady Cox backed up Farmer's low with a pair of 3 over 39’s. Senior Kameron Rumsey
shot a 42.

Prom The prom will be held at The Oaks this year. The address is 325 Huitt Road, Anderson, SC,
29626. There will be breathalyzers used perhaps before and after the dance. Law enforcement
will be present. Tickets are $25 each or $45 for a couple. Students may buy tickets for themselves
and a date. Two people from Hanna may not buy tickets for two people from other schools to
attend the Hanna prom or for two underclassmen at Hanna who are younger than 11th grade to
attend. An 11th or 12th grader can invite a 9th or 10th grader to the prom, but an upperclassman
must be one of the individuals in the couple. Middle-schoolers may not attend the prom. Dates
may not be over 19 years old. You may see Mrs. Hilton if your date is over 18.
Expelled students or those suspended pending expulsion may not attend the prom. If a Hanna
student invites a student to the prom from another school, that student cannot be expelled from
that school or have a serious disciplinary record (this will be determined by the administration at
TLH). Criminal background checks will be done on all students attending the prom who are not
from TLH.
When students buy a "couple’s" ticket, they must know their date's name, address, age, school of
attendance, and grade. Students will need their school ID to purchase and redeem their tickets.
Their dates will need school ID’s and/or other picture ID’s to enter the prom.
Gentlemen's Dress Code:
Formal prom attire may be classified as a tuxedo or dress suit, including a tie, bow tie, a collared
shirt, and may include a vest. Shirts are to be worn at all times. Students may not remove shirts
during the prom. Dress shoes must be worn. Tennis shoes are unacceptable - make sure shoes have
non-marking soles.
Ladies Dress Code:
Dresses may be strapless or include spaghetti straps. Bare or open backs are acceptable; however,
girls should not wear dresses with excessively low backs extending beyond the hips.
Undergarments should not be visible. See-through apparel and dresses with slits that are above the
mid-thigh are not permitted. Garments that are excessively tight or low-cut in front are also not
acceptable. All garments should reach at least mid-thigh (halfway between the middle of the knee
and the place at which the leg attaches to the torso).
