To the Tabernacle Congregation: Church Bazaar “Mini-Market” Workshops

for the CLC Fundraiser coming soon!

What is the Mini-Marketplace you ask? The Mini Marketplace will feature handmade

items by members of our congregation; a perfect opportunity to shop for your Christmas gift-

giving! We are looking for a variety of things such as knitted items, wood-turned items, baked

goods, canned goods, handmade jewelry, home décor, etc. Whatever your talent, join us as

we get together to create these items over good fellowship and fun, and you’re welcome to

bring a friend with you!

We want everyone to be involved, and we need YOUR talent! On June 1st @ 7pm, and

June 18th @1pm, then every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the

month, through October, at 1pm, we will have a

Mini-Market Workshop in the basement. Our goal is

to work on our projects for the CLC Mini-Market

Fundraiser that will take place on November 4th.

If you have a project you would be willing to teach at one

of the workshops, please contact Gayle Price at

336-763-2001. If you are not a “hands on” kind of person,

purchasing supplies would be a blessing!

All proceeds from the November 4th Mini-Market will

benefit the TUMC Christian Life Center.

Planning for this summer’s VBS is underway! For the past several years, our church has

generously given each child who attends VBS a free t-shirt. Local businesses sponsor our shirts

by giving a donation towards the total cost and in return their logo is placed on the back of

the t-shirt or advertisement. We welcome any donation but if you would like to be a sponsor,

and include your company logo, we ask for a minimum donation of $75. If you would like a

logo advertisement please let us know by June 1st and contact Kevin Cripps

at [email protected] or 336-420-0167. If you would like to personally donate to the

cost of the shirts but don’t have a business that requires advertising, feel free to place a check

in the collection plate or give the donation to the church office directly marked "VBS fund". We

have such a generous congregation! Thank you for all the support of our Children’s Programs

VBS IS JUNE 25-29, AND REGISTRATION

IS NOW OPEN!!! TELL YOUR FRIENDS!

Register by June 1st for a FREE t-shirt!

Forms are located in the Narthex, Commons and

outside the Office, and will be available during Sunday

School and Kingdom Kids, or you can register online @

Help Provide Church World Service Refugee Welcome Kits!

We are collecting Welcome Kits for our local Church World Service

office which helps relocate refugees in Greensboro. We are asking TUMC

Sunday School classes, and individuals alike, to consider sponsoring a kit,

and donating the items listed in that kit; there are many kits to choose

from and are listed on the insert in the bulletin.

Place completed kits in either a kitchen or garbage bag and label it, and

place them in the collection box in the Commons until June 11th.

CWS also needs fully functional adult bicycles; (bikes needing minor repairs

are accepted also). Call Lynn Hale at 336-339-1683 for pick up of

bicycles or if you have any questions.

Monetary gifts can be mailed directly to the address on the flier. And,

thank you for loving your neighbor by following the teachings of our Lord!

The Food Supplement Program is in it’s fifth month of smooth operation thanks to the volunteers from our congregation! We are now seeking additional volunteers who could relieve some of the original volunteers who have been working once a month on a Thursday since January. Please contact Sarah Daffron at 336-674-3540 to volunteer. You will attend a current Food Pantry session to review the paperwork process and to make you ready for volunteering beginning in July, one Thursday per month. Your continued support of this community-oriented ministry is greatly appreciated!

If you know of anyone buried in an unmarked grave, please contact

Rachel McCulloch at 336-285-9494 or by email

at [email protected]. We would like to

order grave markers for all unmarked graves, but

need to verify who is buried in which plot.

Sometimes all you need is for someone to be there, even if

they can’t solve your problems. Just knowing there is

someone who cares makes all the difference.
