Join us if you would like to nurture a trustworthy organizational culture that:
Your inquiry will be organized around the following questions: Retreat #1 (three nights/four days) —Questions of Identity and Integrity
• What is our story as an organization? • What gives meaning and purpose to our work? • What values guide who we are as we work together? • How do we value contributions and perspectives throughout the organization?
Retreat #2 (two nights/three days) —Questions of Influence and Interdependence
• How do we work purposefully and adapt to the ever-changing environment? • How do we foster interdependency, shared risk taking, and synergy? • What are the rhythms and cycles of our organization?
Retreat #3 (two nights/three days) —Questions of Integration and Meaning Making
• What do we still need to learn? • How do we stay attuned to the larger context– both internally and externally? • What practices do I need to put in place so our future is not just mine to hold?
What to Expect: You’ll attend three residential retreats, three months apart, and benefit from the ongoing support of a smaller Peer Learning Circle. This series includes:
• A plan of inquiry developed at the first retreat and refined/revised at the subsequent retreats will contain your plans for experimenting with various processes in your organizations—actions that will move you towards your desired organizational culture.
• Circle of Trust® approach, including individual reflection and small and large circle sharing.
• Evening roundtables for reviewing the questions of the day and sharing resources and experiences that could be helpful upon return to your organization.
• Peer Learning Circle calls in the months between retreats will let you “check-in” with a cohort of peers and offer mutual support regarding your work-in-progress.
Prerequisites:
1. Circle of Trust® experience in a Courage & Renewal Academy for Leaders or another local or national Courage & Renewal retreat offering.
2. An organizational context as the focus of your exploration throughout the Courage at
Work program. Your organization might be a congregation, school, nonprofit, health care practice, business or another group of people who work together for common purpose.
3. Designated responsibility (whether paid or volunteer) for a group or team that allows
you to introduce and practice different ways of engaging others around cultural change.
