Good housekeeping is a magazine for middle aged woman who have teenage children, I can tell this by the use of Lorain Kelly which is well known as being a role model of a mother. Also the pink dress looks to be something she would wear every day, so people can relate to her, pink is a maternal colour which appeals to the target audience. This magazine also covers house hold ideas to make your house a better place, which is what woman want out of a magazine. The woman who read these magazines are usually wags that are paranoid about being a good mother and middle aged.

But Mari Claire a magazine for younger woman, aimed at woman who want to look good and want tips on how to look good and fashionable. I can see this from the letters in blue saying ‘94 pages of the clothes to give you wow factor’ the cover also shows a young woman who is posed in a very revelling way. This is quiet similar to ‘Good Housekeeping’ because both magazines are made to make woman feel and look good in their bodies. But Lorain looks to be enjoying herself and being more subtle in how she shows her cleavage, but Mari is not she is showing a lot of cleavage, so this magazine may have two target audience maybe older men. This is all done to sell more magazines.
