APPLICATION INFORMATIONSURFACE PREPARATIONAll substrates should be clean, dry and free from any oil or grease or other contamination. Moulds should be coated with a suitable release agent prior to application of ultrachrome 452. Sim release 9910 is often a suitable material.
Product should only be applied in conditions where the Temperature is 3oC above the dew point and Relative Humidity is <85%.
MIXINGPower mix the product with a jiffy type mixer or similar to achieve a homogeneous consistency. For post finish application add the Ultrachrome 1552 at the prescribed ratio and continue mixing for a further 2 minutes to ensure this is incorporated completely.
Mix only the amount of product that can be used within the pot life.
DO NOT THIN
APPLICATIONUltrachrome 452 is best applied using either an airless spray system or with a standard cup gun. Pressure setting and tip selection will depend on the application and can be best arrived at through experimentation. As a guide, for airless application a pressure of around 160 bar with atip of 0.38 – 0.53mm (0.0.015” – 0.021”.) should be suitable.
For small touch ups, repair and intricate areas a paint brush can be used.
POT LIFE Once the Ultrachrome 1552 has been added the product has a useable life of 1 hour, it is important that this time is carefully adhered to as the product will remain liquid but will no longer benefit from the performance of the adhesion promoter after this time. 1 hour after mixing DONOT add further adhesion promoter, the material must be discarded.
CURECure times are quoted in the physical properties table above, they relate to average RH conditions, 30-50%, cooler temperatures or greater humidity levels will require longer cure times.
