China and Workshop of the World

After entering into the WTO, China is predicted to become the workshop of the world in the near future by scholars and medias at home and abroad.

Will China become the workshop of world?

Basically, we need to figure out these three issues first.

• What is the workshop of world (the conception of it.)?

• What has China already possessed?

• What other kind of musts China shall have to become the workshop of China?

NO.1 What the workshop of world is

From the prospect of the development of economy

• The Great Britain (the workshop of world after its industrial revolution)

• Japan (from 1960s to 1980s).

They symbolize that to be the workshop of world also means running a strong overall economic growth .

technology-intensive industry like electron, manufacturing equipment etc.

To become the workshop of China, what other musts China shall have?

• Enlarge the scale of production.• China has no company among the top 500 companies in the world.• Among the top 500 industrial companies in China, there is no one

about manufacturing industry.

• Although China still have a long way to go in order to become the workshop of world, there are many possibilities and current conditions ,which indicate that to be the workshop of world is absolutely in the near future
