“This has been an amazing journey through theories and applications in order to develop content using technology.”
“Prior taking this course, my goal was to incorporate technology tools into any math lesson in hopes to attract students' attention and to change their perspective math is not always boring; math can be fun.
“I believe the piece of information that set the tone for the whole course for me, was the revelation that the way the brain processes new information is as unique to each individual, as their finger prints.”
Through the project scenario, our group was able to further understand the importance of lessons that follow the UDL. We developed a plan that not only encompassed full technology integration, but it also comprised of all subject areas.”
“The understanding of the tools we have available, and the ability to address strategic, affective, and recognition networks is a valuable perspective to create UDL lessons in our classrooms. “
“Working in a group project for this course helps me to identify quite a few good techniques to utilize technology tools into the lessons. Experimenting with the UDL Book Builder was fun and definitely is a tool to promote student learning. ”
“Besides our every-day individual learning differences, we also have those students with extra special needs, whether it is a gifted student or a physically challenged student, or a student struggling with mental learning disabilities. There is a diversity of learners in every classroom. ”
“Giving the students different options for their projects helped to tend to the affective network, while letting students use their various strengths and interests to drive their performance.”
“The what, how, and why of the process of learning is a valuable approach because it makes the concepts meaningful to our students.”
“I enjoyed working with my team. We always communicate to make sure everyone is on the same page and understood what tasks need to be accomplished. We actively set up meetings for collaboration purpose so that our assignments could be done in a timely manner.”
“We need to start meeting our students’ learning needs by developing Universal Design for Learning lesson plans that will address a variety of special needs and are flexible enough to add components, such as technology strategies and student-centered activities which will positively impact student learning.”
“When coaching a struggling teacher and throwing new information and tools at him/her, it is important to make sure that proper professional development, one-on-one mentoring and modeling is done to make sure that the resources given are applied effectively..”
