The benefits at a glance:
H High level of operational reliability and along service life thanks to the use ofhigh-grade, corrosion-resistant materialssuch as borosilicate solar glass, copperand stainless steel. Durable, vacuum-tightglass-to-metal seals.
H Extremely high efficiency thanks to theSol-titanium coated absorber; the vacuumcollector tubes greatly reduce heat losses.
H Superior heat utilization by the patented“Duotec” double-pipe heat exchangerwhich almost completely encloses thecondensers for better heat transfer.
H Flexible connection between vacuum tubeand condenser due to a corrugated pipe. The individual tubes can be rotated foroptimum alignment to the sun.
H Straight-forward installation and servicethanks to dry connection of collectortubes. Individual tubes can be installedand disassembled without having to drainthe solar system.
H Fast installation times due to provenplug-in system for the connection ofseveral collectors to form one collectorpanel (max. surface area 65 ft.2 / 6 m2).
H Vacuum tube design outperformsconventional flat-plate collectors in cold, cloudy or windy conditions. Ideally suitedfor year round energy collection in coldweather climates.
H Built-in temperature limiter inside thecondenser controls the heat flow at veryhigh collector temperatures, protecting theheat transfer fluid.

Construction and function
Vitosol 300 vacuum tube solar collectorsare available as two models:H 2m2 with 20 tubesH 3m2 with 30 tubes
Built into each vacuum tube is a Sol-titaniumcoated copper absorber, ensuring a highabsorption rate of solar radiation and lowemission of thermal radiation.
A heat pipe filled with an evaporator liquid isplaced on the absorber and connected to thecondenser in the Duotec double-pipe heatexchanger via a flexible coupling.A so-called ”dry connection” between theheat pipe and the heat exchanger allowspipes to be rotated or replaced even whenthe installation is filled and under pressure.Solar energy is transferred to the heat pipe, causing the liquid to evaporate. The vaporrises into the condenser. Heat is conveyed to

Vitosol 300 - vacuum tube collector basedon the heat pipe principle
the passing heat transfer medium (glycol /water) by the double-pipe heat exchangercontaining the condenser; this causes thevapor to condense. The condensate flowsback into the heat pipe and the process isrepeated.
The angle of inclination of the collector mustbe at least 25°, in order to guarantee acirculation of the evaporator liquid in theheat exchanger. Corrections for deviationsfrom south can be made by rotating thevacuum tubes.
By means of flexible and insulatedconnection pipes sealed with O-rings severalcollectors can be joined to form a totalcollector surface area of up to 65 ft.2 /6 m2.
A connection kit with clamping ringconnections facilitates the attachment of thecollector panel to the piping of the solarcircuit. The collector temperature sensor is installedin a sensor mounting clip directly on theDuotec heat exchanger inside theconnection housing of the collector.
