ATLANTIC BOILERS was formed in 1980 to promote
highly efficient boilerplant and within 2 years had supplied the first
commercial gas condensing boilers in the United Kingdom. After 25
years, ATLANTIC BOILERS has supplied both gas and oil condensing
boilers to many Universities, Hotels, Hospitals, Medical and Social
Care Buildings, Leisure Centres, Schools, Offices and Housing
Developments plus scores of other types of Buildings.
Coupled with the supply, ATLANTIC BOILERS provides back-up
commissioning, spares and servicing by way of a network of
merchants throughout the United Kingdom. ATLANTIC BOILERS also
supplies condensing and highly efficient domestic hot water
generation, based on stainless steel manufacture.

The ATLANTIC R-Series Year-Round Maximum Condensing Boiler has two distinct heatexchangers, the first of developed quality steel design and the second of high gradeplastic design.
The flue gases leave the first heat exchanger at temperatures below 90˚C, and arethen extracted from the second condensing heat exchanger at temperatures alwaysbelow 50˚C.
The introduction ofcombustion air throughthe condensing exchangerlowers the flue gastemperature below dew-point, hence there is noneed for return watertemperature to be low.
The boiler will condenseto it's maximum efficiencyeven at 82˚C Flow & 71˚Creturn. For combustion air,at inlet temperaturesbelow 30˚C, efficienciesalways exceed 92%. Theseconditions apply throughoutthe year in the UK.
The lower part of thecondensing exchangerhas a condensateneutralising section builtin, eliminating the needfor separate equipment inthe future. The ATLANTICR Series boiler pipeworkrequirements are asstraight forward as aconventional boiler or ahigh efficiency boiler.

IN-BUILT FEATURES
Minimum flow and minimum temperature requirements are achieved with pump, 4 port valve and sensor
Domestic hot water can be generated by pump and sensor Variable temperature radiator circuit is compensated via outside sensor
and flow sensor. Pump circulates the system up to approx 30kPA The comprehensive controls package can include sequencing, variable boiler flow
temperature, and separate heating circuit control Under-floor heating can be controlled by 3-port valve, sensor, outside sensor
and circulated by pump
All the above systems can be wired into the boiler, with each of the three separatecircuits having their own time and temperature programmes.
Alternatively, the ATLANTIC R Series boiler(s) can be enabled by a BMSsystem and also can provide alarm signals to a BMS system. The boiler(s) willcontinue their own in-house operational control ensuring correct combustionand hydraulic functions.

SPECIFICATION
The boiler body is made of 3mm thick quality steel with a water-cooled combustionchamber. The burner fires horizontally through the combustion camber and makes aseries of passes through a horizontal heat exchanger. The steel boiler is externallycovered with an 80mm layer of rock wool thermal insulation. Access to the heatexchanger is through a panel at the front of the boiler secured by four bolts.
The condensing exchanger is made of polypropylene and contains a series of smoothpolypropylene heat exchanger tubes. The bottom of the condensing exchanger has asection containing limestone granules to neutralise the condensate.
The boiler has a pre-wired control panel incorporating an isolator switch withindicator lamps, modulating, high/low or on/off burner control, water flow sensorwith indicator lamps, a safety limit thermostat, hours run indicator, flue gasthermometer & a weather-controlled programmer for two separately operatedheating circuits, and domestic hot water primary circuit
The boiler assembly includes a 4 way valve, a shunt pump, both pre-wired andoperated by the control panel, and a shunt pipe arrangement with connections forconstant temperature circuits
The pressurised Oil or Gas burner has; aluminum body, motorised fan air supply, oilor gas valve with controlled rate of opening, ignition transformer, air/oil or air/gasmixing, combustion head, differential pressure switch, control box with ionisationflame protection, balanced flue pressure switch controls. Burners are supplied withmodulating, high/low or on/off operation.
The flue gas fan, in each boiler bank, contains; Aerodynamic polypropylenehousing, vibration free mountings, minimum pressure loss inlet & outlet, totallyenclosed synchronous motor, maintenance free, dust & water proof bearings, infinitely adjustable fan motor speed regulator. The fan on models up to 90kW ismounted within the boiler casing.

Heating CircuitsINSTALLATION & CONTROL ARRANGEMENT
Each boiler has its own header with in-built shunt pump. This guaranteesminimum water flow and temperatureprotection. Each boiler has in-built controlfor three systems, for example weathercompensated radiators, under-floor heatingand domestic hot water.
Group boiler installations can use abalancing vessel as a neutral heatoutlet. Here 3 boilers serve abalancing vessel. Two space heatingsystems and one DHW calorifier arethen served from the vessel.
Overall, the group boilers can controltheir own cascade, the two spaceheating systems and the DHWcalorifier.

Boilers can have either balanced or conventional flues forboth oil and gas. The ATLANTIC R Series boiler fluerequirements are economic - often cutting the materialand labour costs when compared to other boilers. As theflue gas exit temperature is always low, the volume ofthe gases is always greatly reduced throughout the year.
In addition, the ATLANTIC R Series boiler has a bank ofvariable speed flue gas extract fans which operatecomfortably at the low temperatures. The fans permitextensive vertical and horizontal flue ducts in lower cost, carefully chosen plastic materials. In addition, the fanvariable speed control minimises the energyconsumption in expelling the flue gases.
