Who are we ?• Technical University of Sofia is the biggest Bulgarian technical higher school

with more than 12000 full-time, about 2500 part-time, and a lot of PhD and post-graduate students.

• The lecturing staff of the TUS is more than 950 professors, assistant professors and researchers.

• The Research and Development Sector (RDS) organizes, administrates and services of the research activities of TUS.

• TUS has very important national role for the

distribution of power engineering knowledge, and for development of the Nuclear Energy Research Area in Bulgaria.

is specialized in research- and educational surveys, investigation and consulting services in the field of:

Risk Analysis and Industrial and Nuclear Safety Studies Environmental Impact Assessment of Power Plants, Industrial Enterprises. Labour and Environmental Monitoring and Protection Computer environmental and safety modelling, etc.

The head of SEEL is registered in the PHARE and TACIS CCR of the European Commission (BUL -20771).

Why we interesting in the field of

cost effective modernisation From one side:

• with understanding that there is necessary to gain and transfer good new knowledge and advanced EU for practical uses; From another side:

• with our experience regarding VVER and wish to support the process of the:– sustainable and safety long time operation of the

NPP;– prevention of the accidents and improvement of the

mitigation concept and management of accident sequences, etc.
