A long time ago, a storm arose in a field of agave and some thunder and lightning fell on the plants. And made the heart of the agave cooked and came within a kind of honey.

Our ancestors tasted and adopted in their sacred rites.

Long before the spanish arrived. The Aztec people had previously made a fermented beverage from the Agave plant, which they called OCTLI and later called PULQUE.

After the spanish arrived (1521). When the Conquistadors ran out own brandy. They began to distill agave azul to produce the first indigenous destilled beverage

Pedro Sanchez de Tagle (1800) began mass producing, he had the first factory in Jalisco, Mexico.

Don Cenobio Sauza (1884) founder of Sauza Tequila was the first to export tequila to the United States. Don Cenobio´s grandson Francisco Sauza gained international attention for complaning that “There cannot be tequila where there aren’t agaves”, therefore only real tequila comes from Tequila Jalisco Mexico .

Sangrita is a sweet, sour and spicy drink typical made of orange juice or tomato juice grenadine and hot chilies and equal sized shots of tequila and sangrita

Another popular drink in Mexico is the Bandera(flag) it consist of three shot glasses filled with lime juice(green), white tequila(white), and sangrita(red)

Tequila Slammer (muppet) is a mix of tequila and grapefruit carbonated drink (soft drink) served in a shot

Margarita, vampiro, charro negro, paloma, are others very popular beverages with tequila

Conclusions:Tequila was an economic success story.Tequila puts our country on the world map for its high sales. While it is good to know that our national drink has brought a lot of money to our country. Remember that is just fashion of alcoholic beverage consumers.So remember, Tequila………. Good for the economy. But, Bad for your liver
