Week 11 Term 1, 2011 Principals Report Dear Parents/Caregivers Last week, it was great to see so many parents attending conferences with their child’s classroom teacher. Effective learning is all about partnerships and having a sense of connection between the home and the school environment. Research indicates that children have better academic and social outcomes when their parents and teachers work well together. EASTER HOLIDAYS School holidays begin this Friday 8th April. We would like to wish everybody a safe and happy holiday and a wonderful Easter. Teachers will return on Wednesday 27th April. Students return on Thursday 28th April.

Great lists of books in various categories sorted by age group can be found at: https://products.schools.nsw.edu.au/prc/booklist/home.html School Gates and Parking Issues Please be advised that the issue of a locked pedestrian gate in the mornings has now been rectified. Adventure Passport until April 26. They can touch fossils at the Australian Museum, picnic in Elizabeth Farm’s historic grounds, or explore the galaxies at Sydney Observatory. Several major venues are outside the city centre, and regional museums and galleries across NSW are welcoming passport holders. Passports are available at all participating venues, listed on the website at www.kidspassport.nsw.gov.au. Children who collect three stamps can earn a certificate of achievement. And if they return their passport slip by 3 May with one stamp or more they go into the draw to win prizes. SMASH Program Students from K-4 participated in a SMASH demo lesson on Friday last week.
