Dear Parents, We have had overwhelming support with our Christmas Raffle for Melissa Bateson and we greatly appreciate your kindness at this time. Melissa and family are doing their best to keep things as settled as they can for their boys and your sale and return of the tickets is heartening. Thanks very much to the people and organisations who have donated items for the raffle and we will be drawing it on the 17th December and contacting winners that day. We have been asked by parents and community members where they can make donations to the family and if you would like to do this, please send your donation along to school in an envelope and we will ensure it gets to Melissa's family. As we approach the end of the school year, it is really important that our families keep an eye on the school newsletter, website and Facebook page so your children can be ready for the fun (and serious) events ahead. Our school prize giving is a formal event and we ask that children be dressed in full school uniform, including shoes. Year 5 – 8 students will need to return to school by 3.45pm on Wednesday 11th December. If your child is to receive an award, other than 100% attendance, you will have been contacted by the school office already. Our school reports and portfolios will come home on Friday 13th December and our last day for the year is Tuesday 17th December, finishing at 12.30. Parents are invited to come along to school at 12.15 to see the 'clap out' for leaving students. HELLO FROM THE PRINCIPAL!

Dear Parents,

We have had overwhelming support with our Christmas Raffle for Melissa Bateson and we greatly appreciate your kindness at this time.

Demographic SurveyMany of you will have received in your mailbox a demographic survey, which we are carrying out to determine our likely roll growth in the next few years. As part of the process with the rebuild of our school, we need to gather as much information as we can about likely roll numbers in the future. The survey can be completed on the sheet provided and returned to school, or an online link is provided. You can also access the survey from the main page on our school website.

SPORTS NOTICES:This week saw the final 2 events of sport at TGS, in what has been another very successful year for our school.

Weetbix TryathlonWell done to the 30 kids who braved the rain on Wednesday to compete in the Tryathlon.  Despite the weather reducing the event to a duathlon, the kids had a great day! Thanks to all the parents who attended to support their kids.

Auckland Intermediate Athletics ChampsOn what was possibly the worst weather of the year, 9 of our students braved the conditions to represent TGS at the premier competition for intermediate students in Auckland. The weather badly affected the day, with high jump being cancelled.  Congratulations to Jaymie Kolose who won the 200m and 400m.  Also a special mention to Max Mata (100m) and our Y8 boys (4 x 100m relay team) who qualified for finals.  The top 1000 children in Auckland attended the day, after qualifying at each of their respective zone days, so making the final 8 in any event is something to be very proud of!
