The Chinese consumption and demand keeps increasing
China is both a wine producer and consumer, and with no doubt is taking part among the top wine-producing nations.
Chinese wine consumption soared by 142% over five years since 2007. In 2012, China has overtaken the UK to join the list of the world's top five wine-consuming nations; with France as the leading supplier accounting for 48% of its total imports.
Moreover, the Chinese demand for imported spirits is also booming. China is now the largest Cognac market in the world by value.
Guangdong province is the most developed area in China
Guangdong province is the largest trade center for Import and Export with a population of more than 110 million inhabitants. The province holds the highest nation GDP as it could be the 15th world power.
Interwine takes place in Canton, capital of Guangdong province, the third most populated city in China. Located on the Pearl River Delta, with close ties to neighboring cities such as Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Macau, Canton is China's most important trading hub.
