Rectory hall ceiling repairs
This week a contractor selected by Parish Council worked on the Rectory hall ceiling to repair water damage caused by a roof leak during the storms of Anzac weekend in April. The roof was repaired promptly and the gutters cleaned as preventive maintenance. In the absence of a regular “preferred service provider” the Diocese requires three comparative quotations for maintenance work. Council chose a contractor at its last meeting in early June.
That collapsing arch… The specialists consulted declined to repair the
arch deeming it too seriously damaged and too
risky, requiring assessment by a structural
engineer. We already have a comprehensive
report compiled in January 2019, so it seems that
the time has come for serious consideration of
the future of All Souls’ church buildings. – Julia
