ASSIMILATING  AND  PROCLAIMING

The Best Is Yet To Come!!!

Lord,  help  me  to  commit  myself  to  studying  your  word,  daily.    I  do  want  to  hide  your  word  in  my  heart  so  when  I  am  tempted  to  do  that  which  is  not

pleasing  to  you,  I  can  use  your  word  to  escape.

Study to show thyself

approved unto God, a workman

that needeth not to be ashamed rightly

dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15

Words forwarded by Pastor Croft

*Bunkers and Boulders

In the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, until these calamites have passed by. Psalm 57:1

Residents of Washington, D.C., were surprised in 1942 when workers started building the East Wing of the White House. During World War II, it was thought that the nation's energies should be expended on the war effort, not on enlarging the presidential residence. Only a few people knew that the East Wing was being enlarged to hide the construction of an underground bunker to be used in emergency situations. It was called the Presidential Emergency Operations Center. Originally built for Franklin Delano Roosevelt, it was designed to withstand a nuclear blast in the event of an incoming Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM).

In the days of David, a cave accomplished the same thing. While running from the armies of King Saul, David frequently found caves to be secret and secure hiding places. According to the superscription at the beginning of Psalm 57, David was hiding in such a cave when he wrote, "In the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge...."

Everyone needs a hiding place, but our security is not found in bunkers or boulders, but under the feather protection of the Lord. He Himself is our safety. He alone is our hiding place.

Under His wings my soul shall abide, safely abide forever. William O. Cushing

Scripture  Reading

Psalms  112:  1-‐10

1  Praise  ye  the  LORD.  Blessed  is  the  man  that  feareth  the  LORD,  that  delighteth  greatly  in  his  commandments.

2  His  seed  shall  be  mighty  upon  earth:  the  generation  of  the  upright  shall  be  blessed.

3  Wealth  and  riches  shall  be  in  his  house:  and  his  righteousness  endureth  for  ever.

4  Unto  the  upright  there  ariseth  light  in  the  darkness:  he  is  gracious,  and  full  of  compassion,        and  righteous.

5  A  good  man  sheweth  favour,  and  lendeth:  he  will  guide  his  affairs  with  discretion.

6  Surely  he  shall  not  be  moved  for  ever:  the  righteous  shall  be  in  everlasting  remembrance.

7  He  shall  not  be  afraid  of  evil  tidings:  his  heart  is  fixed,  trusting  in  the  LORD.

8  His  heart  is  established,  he  shall  not  be  afraid,  until  he  see  his  desire  upon  his  enemies.

9  He  hath  dispersed,  he  hath  given  to  the  poor;  his  righteousness  endureth  for  ever;  his  horn  shall  be  exalted  with  honour.

10  The  wicked  shall  see  it,  and  be  grieved;  he  shall  gnash  with  his  teeth,  and  melt  away:  the  desire  of  the  wicked  shall  perish.

Praying for others, Unity with others and Respect for others

As  God’s  messenger,  I  give  each  of  you  this  warning:  Be  honest  in  your  estimate  of  yourselves,  measuring  your  value  by  how  much  faith  God  has  given  you.    Just  as  our  bodies  have  many  parts  and  each  part  has  a  special  function,  so  it  is  with  Christ’s  body.    We  are  all  parts  of  his  one  body,  and  each  of  us  has  different  work  to  do.    And  since  we  are  all  one  body  in  Christ,  we  belong  to  each  other,  and  each  of  us  needs  all  the  others.    God  has  given  each  of  us  the  ability  to  do  certain  things  well.    So  if  God  has  given  you  the  ability  to  prophesy,  speak  out  when  you  have  faith  that  God  is  speaking  through  you.    If  your  gift  is  that  of  serving  others,  serve  them  well.    If  you  are  a  teacher,  do  a  good  job  teaching.    If  your  gift  is  to  encourage  others,  do  it!    If  you  have  money,  share  it  generously.    If  God  has  given  you  leadership  ability,  take  the  responsibility  seriously.    And  if  you  have  a  gift  for  showing  kindness  to  others,  do  it  gladly.    Don’t  just  pretend  that  you  love  others,  really  love  them.    Hate  what  is  wrong.    Stand

on  the  side  of  the  good.    Love  each  other  with  genuine  affection,  and  take  delight  in  honoring  each  other.    Never  be  lazy  in  your  work,  but  serve  the  Lord  enthusiastically.      Romans  12:3-‐11

The Pledge of Allegiance

The Pledge of Allegiance and The Lord's Prayer are not allowed in most public schools anymore, because the word "God" is mentioned. Here's a poem someone wrote:

Now I sit me down in school Where praying is against the rule For this great nation under God Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,

It violates the Bill of Rights. And anytime my head I bow

Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green, That's no offense; it's a freedom scene. The law is specific, the law is precise.

Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall Might offend someone with no faith at all.

In silence alone we must meditate, God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks, And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.

They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible. To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen, And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.

It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong, We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls, Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles. But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,

No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess, When chaos reigns the school's a mess.

So, Lord, this silent plea I make: Should I be shot; My soul please take!

THANK GOD FOR SUNDAY SCHOOL, A PLACE WHERE LEARNING IS FUN AND FREE.

Amen
