We strive to promote the elite genetics of the Red Angus breed and deliver those to our producers. We are a family owned operation with ranches in Jacksboro, Texas and Lone Grove, Oklahoma. The Swan and Lewis families have a great passion for cattle. Agriculture has always been a part of our lives in one way or another. In 2017, we purchased the mature cow herd from Pieper Red Angus giving us access to some of the top genetics in the Red Angus breed.

It has been an honor to work with the Swan and Lewis families, along with their talented staff in preparation for this marketing event. Through key transactions, Bayou Creek Ranch has established one of the most consistent and proven cow herds in North America. The purchase of the Pieper Red Angus mature cow herd in 2017 introduced key females to the donor roster at Bayou Creek Ranch. PIE Cascade 561 is the dam of the $75,000 PIE The Cowboy Kind and BYU The Right Kind 9322 ET, the featured Lot 1 herd bull prospect. PIE Lakota 046 is the dam of PIE Stockman 4051, as well as five sons that will cross the auction block. PIE Fayette 1160 is the dam of the $40,000 PIE One Of A Kind 352. A full brother to One Of A Kind will sell, along with two maternal brothers by the $132,500 PIE Fullback 7005. PIE Stormy 541, the dam of PIE Code Red 9058, has eight sons that will be featured herd sire prospects on sale day. Large sire groups with many full and maternal brothers has enabled cattleman to add consistency and uniformity to their programs through genetic advancements.

The bulls are developed in an 80-acre pasture at the ranch in Lone Grove, Oklahoma. By maintaining a slower more precise development, these bulls are true athletes that are ready for heavy service. We confidently say that these bulls will endure more seasons in the breeding pasture. The bulls have had DNA submitted and will sell with genetically enhanced EPD’s to facilitate you in making a more educated decision during the buying process. Actual ultrasound data was recorded by David Aborn of Image Livestock Service to aid in your selection. Additionally, a select group of production age females from the heart of the program will be offered for your appraisal following the bulls.

The bulls are developed in an 80-acre pasture at the ranch in Lone Grove, Oklahoma. The bulls are developed slowly with a 15% fiber ration at a rate of 1% of their body weight. After 180 days the bulls are moved to a higher energy ration. They have been maintained at a rate of 1-1.5% of their body weight in order to prevent structure and foot issues. By maintaining a slower and more precise development, these bulls are true athletes that are ready for heavy service. We confidently say that these bulls will endure more seasons in the breeding pasture. The bulls have had DNA submitted and will sell with genetically enhanced EPD’s to facilitate you in making a more educated decision during the buying process.

Unless otherwise noted, all the breeding age bulls will have passed a breeding soundness exam prior to pick up/delivery. In addition to the standard terms and conditions of the Red Angus Association of America, we will provide the first breeding season (the 90-day period immediately following turn out) guarantee on all yearling and older bulls. This guarantee is not an insurance or mortality policy, but a guarantee on functional fertility. It is not a substitute or replacement for poor management. Buyer assumes all risks for injury due to running bulls together or management decisions outside genetic control. For the guarantee to apply, we ask that you contact us as soon as a condition is observed and before the animal is sold. We will work with you to determine whether the animal is returned or sold for slaughter. We will attempt to provide a suitable replacement. If one cannot be provided of equal or greater value, we will issue a sale credit to be used in a future sale for the full purchase price less the salvage value of the animal.
