Retirement Years
There is nothing as refreshing to a
younger Christian than listening to an
older child of God who has been tried by
fire, whose faith has been put to the test,
yet who praises God for His faithfulness.
There are many biblical accounts that
show God for who He is to His people, but
Hebrews chapter 11 is called the "Hall of
Faith." The emphasis is not so much on
the people, but their faith in God. Chapter
11:34 says, "quenched the violence of fire,
escaped the edge of the sword, out of
weakness were made strong, became
valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the
aliens." We are all weak in one area or another.
But as the Hymn says, "Turn your eyes upon Jesus
and the things of this world will grow strangely
dim." When we see God for who He truly is, we
can't help but be strengthened! AW Pink says,
"God is true. His Word of Promise is sure. In all His
relations with His people God is faithful. He may be
safely relied upon. No one ever yet really trusted
Him in vain. We find this precious truth expressed
almost everywhere in the Scriptures, for His people
need to know that faithfulness is an essential part of
the Divine character. This is the basis of our
confidence in Him." This is how the people of
Hebrews 11 were turned from weakness to
overcoming strength, by God's powerful
faithfulness. He made a promise, and they believed
Him at His Word.
There are many things that come associated with
getting older. A lot of people wisely store away in
their younger years preparing for that day only to
wake up one morning to realize it got here far too
quick! As Billy Graham said, "I would have taken
better care of myself if I knew I was going to live
this long." Solomon paints the aging process in a
remarkable way when he says in Ecclesiastes 12:1-
4, "Remember now your Creator in the days of your
youth, before the difficult days come, and
the years draw near when you say, ‘I have
no pleasure in them: While the sun and the
light, the moon and the stars, are not
darkened, and the clouds do not return
after the rain; in the day when the keepers
of the house tremble, and the strong men
bow down; when the grinders cease
because they are few, and those that look
through the windows grow dim; when the
doors are shut in the streets, and the sound
of grinding is low; when one rises up at
the sound of a bird, and all the daughters
of music are brought low.’” This is just part of the
allegory he wrote that gives vivid detail of the aging
process. So we understand why the Lord would tell
young people to serve Him while they have the
health and the strength to do so. But before anyone
over the age of 54 starts to think they are off the
hook because of too many medications and post-
operational stress, there is no word found in the
Word about retiring from Kingdom work. Isaiah
46:4-5 give motivation for all who will admit that
they are old when the Lord says, "Even to your old
age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry
you! I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry,
and will deliver you. ‘To whom will you liken Me,
and make Me equal and compare Me, that we
should be alike?’” The answer to that rhetorical
question is simple! There is no one like the Lord!
There is not even a distant 2nd, 3rd, or 4th place.
He is in a class all His own, and He wants the older
ones to point the younger generation to His glory!
Psalm 71:18 is a wonderful way to pray for God to
be glorified in your life if you are getting older,
"Now also when I am old and gray-headed, O God,
do not forsake me, until I declare Your strength to
this generation, Your power to everyone who is to
come." Go out witnessing and testifying of God's
faithfulness in your life! Dr. Mohler says, "The
American ideal of retirement does not meet the

Christian standard of faithfulness. For Christians the
issue should be redeployment rather than
retirement."
There is more than a generational gap
between the older and the younger people. There
has been a massive philosophical shift that leaves
people miles apart. But the prayer is that the older
would declare God's power to the most un-churched
generation this country has ever known. It's not
time to retire. It's time to refuel to be (redeployed)
and go out with a blaze for His glory and renown.

It's the right time of the year for
trumpet blowing. The Jewish calendar puts Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur in the
middle of our month September. The rapture of the Church, being an imminent
event as presented by the apostle Paul, would parallel perfectly with the feast of
Trumpets. What a glorious event when all these who have died in Christ will RISE! All
born again believers will be translated to meet Yeshua HaMashiach in the air. With
Jesus forever! The unconditional promise of John 14:1-3 will be our reality. This is our
comfort. But…the end is NOT YET!
While we wait for this blessed hope,
opportunity knocks. Will we be found faithful with the gifts placed in our
authority? Or will we be like the Jews Jesus describes in the parable of the 10 minas.
Leaving the home of Zacchaeus in Jericho traveling toward Jerusalem, Jesus told this
story in Luke 19:11-27. Not to be confused with the parable of the talents in Matthew
25, in this story the nobleman chooses 10 servants to trust. Unfortunately, only 2
servants prove faithful.
Each servant was given small gifts to
be responsible for, and the reward for faithfulness was for greater in His kingdom.
Those traveling with Jesus anxiously
expected for Jesus to set up His kingdom
when He reached Jerusalem. In this story the "Noble man went to a far country to
receive a kingdom and then to return." This scenario should have helped them to
perceive that the kingdom would come later than they hoped. Like them, we also
question how long? However; thanks to Jesus, through the Holy Spirit we have been
gifted with greater revelation. Revelation 11:15 says; "Then the seventh angel
sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world
have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and
ever!"
This passage speaks to the earliest
possibility for Jesus to receive His kingdom. In Matthew 6:10 Jesus taught them to pray,
"Thy kingdom come Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord." 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Hello Church family! I hope this caller finds you doing well! We are getting ready to start the Temple Hill ministry and I am so excited for that. I can’t thank those of you enough
who have made the decision to volunteer and help out the students and staff of this wonderful school. I think that this is a step in the right direction for the church. For far too long churches as a whole have gotten a bad reputation, and I believe by helping the students, staff, and parents of Unicoi county, we are doing exactly what the church was meant to do. We are here to take care of the people in order to show and share the love of Christ with them. Ultimately the goal is getting the gospel out of the church and to the people, and I truly believe this is a great place to start. Again, our desire is that every student that graduates from the youth ministry will be serving in some sort
of ministry, and you guys are showing them another way to serve. We believe that serving takes the words of Jesus and puts them into action in a very practical manner. So, as you take part in whatever ministry you are a part of please invite a young person to help you serve in the ministries you are a part of! I recently read an article talking about the importance of intergenerational relationships for the health of both parties. I can’t think of a better foundation for a relationship than serving together in the name of Jesus. There is something beautiful about the body of Christ coming together to be the hands and feet of Jesus, so please continue to be in prayer for opportunities to serve. Remember, saved people, serve people! In His love Ciralsky family

Calvary Baptist Church, We are so thankful for the thoughtful, loving, praying church that you are. Your prayers have been such a huge encouragement and comfort and strength to us during my mother's illness and death.
