Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Chapel Member Prayer List
Prayer for Missions-Lord we ask that you give us hearts that look beyond ourselves. Lord open our hearts to those who are hurting around the world, and right next door. Give us eyes to see the needs, hearts of prayer, and gen-erous hands to help. Specifically at this time we ask that you bless those working at Venezuela Now, Dunamis, Abba House, and Good Shepherd. Give them strength, patience, love and the resources they need to do your will. May they be filled with the Holy Spirit that they may meet not only the physi-cal needs but also share your light with those who are struggling in darkness. In the name of Jesus Christ, the light of the world, Amen.

The violent evil that was perpetrated this past week at Doug-las High School in Parkland, Florida left a wake of grief, shock, and confusion. We are all too familiar with these kinds of trage-dies. They leave us groping for answers. Some are demanding answers. Some insist they have the answers. You have probably heard them as I have. I won’t go into those simply because many of the proposed solutions are politically biased and disingenu-ous. It seems to be the culture in which we find ourselves these days.
The question that always arises in times like these is, “Why does God allow such suffering? Why would a loving and gracious God seem so absent on February 14 in Parkland, Florida?” Such questions have been asked for centuries. Volumes of books have been written. Millions of debates have been initiated. And yes, countless sermons have been preached.
I have one question. Nikolas Cruz used to introduce himself as, “Hi, I’m Nick. I’m a school shooter.” There were events in his life that greatly contributed to his mental illness. His everyday behavior was more than bizarre. Was there ever someone of faith who could befriend someone like Nick Cruz? Perhaps share the love and hope of God? I don’t know. I just don’t know.
The 2018 Broyles Mission Conference has been an incredible success! Lamar and Sylvia Helms have led this team in many, many months of prayer and preparation. Be sure to express to Lamar and Sylvia and the members of the team your heartfelt thanks:
