RETURN

It has been an absolute joy to see the P-2 children back, excited

to see their teachers, getting into their learning and just plainly

enjoying the social aspect of playing together. There was

however a very special relationship that built up between the

children who remained at school over the Remote Learning

experience that I hope will endure way past the return to

‘normalcy’.

2 SURVEYS

The 3-6s returning after the long weekend has seen an increase

of energy around the place and we can start to reinvent what

things will look like around the school. It will be some time

before things are ‘normal’, and this has us wondering about what

things may have changed forever. To that end I am hoping all

parents will fill in the survey that I have already sent to P-2

families, and will send to 3-6 families at the end of next week.

Lots of positives have come up as a result of this extraordinary

experience and we want to capitalise on these while the

experience is still fresh. Your responses will be INVALUABLE to

us. Please let me know if you wish me to resend it.

In addition it is now nearly 4 years since the school chose its

values of Respect, Responsibility and Teamwork, and staff have

been re-examining the values we wish to promote moving

forward for the next 4 years. We would really value you

completing this survey monkey which will take you literally, less

than a minute.

This is why we should have a class party when we come back to school. Firstly, I just think it will be fun

and silly but first I just think we might have to go over the rules of the pandemic we’re going through

because we could get the virus and get very sick. We could have food like, chips, sausage rolls and pies

or even more food. But make sure you bring sanitizer and wash your hands all over before you eat and

not to touch anyone.

Secondly, we could put on music and dance to what you put. But sometimes whoever is doing good

dancing you could get them to pick a song.

Thirdly, I think everyone in the class will enjoy it if you throw a party because everyone loves school. If

you put so many things to do when you throw a party you’ll enjoy your student’s happiness.

- Natalya

Dear Mrs Thurgood,

I think we should have a class party when we get back to school because we haven't seen each other for

8 weeks and when we get back to school it will be 11 weeks since we have all seen each other.

I think we have all worked very hard to get our work done so have you Mrs Thurgood and having a class

party to reward us will make us want to keep working hard.

We can all bring a plate of delicious food to share and play some fun games to celebrate our hard work. I

hope you will think about letting us have a class party.

- Luke.

Why we should have a class PARTY!

We should have a class PARTY!! Because we have worked hard to try getting our work done (some of us) but I still think we should have a class PARTY!

It has been hard with all the online stuff and I just have to mention we have the absolute best teacher in the whole entire world (which is you)

I hate home schooling because I can’t see the best teacher and my friends. So can we please have a class PARTY!! I don’t know about you but I miss school so so SO much

- Zoe

The year 2050 by Tiarni. In the year 2050 it will change because I will be a parent and I will have Kids and I will get married and stuff. Then there will no virus and we won’t be sick and we will have a baby and the baby boy’s name is Red and the girls names will be Ella, Natalya, Zoe, Kattana, Mavis. I will get my kids what they want and I will go where they want to go, I will take care of them until I go out and then they will have to stay with my Mum and Dad. When I get back to my Mum and Dad, they will be outstanding to see but I would say I need to talk to Grandma and Grandpa. You can play for a little bit longer and when we go back home you will go to my school that I went to. You will like it so much that you will go anywhere you want but you will get to have a cake and chocolate fountain and stuff.

The Year 2050

Characters: Matthew, Jacob, Jackson and Mrs Thurgood. The Designing

“Ok so how is this going to look like?” Matthew said. “Why don't we make it look like a drone?” Jacob said. “Yeah, we could do that!” Jackson said. So Matthew, Jacob and Jackson set out to buy some supplies for the drone. And they also looked up a drone so that they can build one for themselves. (2 hours later) “Finally, we did it,” Jacob said in relief. “Now let's test it”. Matthew said in excitement. Okay, so now that they made it, they can try it, but, what is going to happen… “Okay, I’m in the air (Jackson says in his mind) Oh god, I’m scared. But 2 minutes later, it came crashing down! “AHHHHH!” Jackson screams. PAUSE! (Just saying there is no violence in this story) UNPAUSE, “Matthew, you have to do something!” Jacob said worrying. “OH, I know someone who will be the best at drones, MRS THURGOOD! I will be right back. I say as I rushed to Mrs Thurgood’s house. “MATTHEW, MATTHEW!” Yelled Jacob. Later Back at Mrs Thurgood’s house... “WHAT!” Mrs Thurgood yelled “We have to get over there now! Is he still in the air” “yes” I say “Then let’s go!” Later back at Jackson... “AHHHHHH, I'm going to die, help me!” “Don't worry I got you!” Mrs Thurgood yelled. “Help me, please!” Mrs Thurgood pulls down the rope and Jackson climbs up it and it looks like Mrs Thurgood saves the day. “Thank you!” Jackson says. “You’re welcome!” And that’s all of the story.

That Cat

One stormy night there was a cat named Billy out looking for his parents. He was walking down the

street and he saw a possum heading into the dark, dark forest. The possum stopped and said, “Are you

lost cat?”

“No”, said Billy, I am just trying to find my parents. The possum said he would help. They wandered

around through the forest when they saw a beautiful bird. The bird was the colours of a rainbow. They

told the bird what they were doing and the bird said he would fly around and help. Just then they heard

a noise coming from the scrub under a large tree. They ran through the towers of trees. It was Billy’s

parents and a litter of kittens he had found. They all helped the kittens get home to a nice warm bed.

HEADPHONES

Warning this is a scary story

If you don't like scary stories don't read on

It was a dark and stormy night. There was a little boy, named Zac, who was scared of Thunder and

Lightning.

His parents were at work.

The babysitter was fast asleep. He kept hearing strange noises from the closet.

He decided to go to bed. Well he wished he never did that.

Hands started to creep out of the closet.

They weren't normal hands, they were furry.

And green, so he pinched his arm so would cheek if he was dreaming. He decided to put on his

headphones.

Then the person in the closet decided to hack his head phones.

His voice was very deep. So it was very scary.

WHOEVER YOU ARE STOP NOW!

Well that woke up the babysitter.

Zac come here.

Zac explained that there was something in his closet.

And hacked my headphones

The babysitter went to the closet but it was his parents pranking him

Thank you for listening - Jorja

HEADPHONES Crash! No my headphones! They're broken. Are you serious? These cost $120 now my mum is going to be so angry and annoyed. I better save up my money so I can buy new ones. I guess I better go home now and do some chores. 1 day later, “Hey Joseph where are your headphones?” “I let my friend borrow them Mum.” “Oh ok sorry, would you like pancakes for breakfast darling?” “Ok Mum but can you put more maple syrup on this time please?” “Fine, I’m going to make them now don't be naughty while I’m making them” “Yeah I won't Mum, can I at least play on my phone or my PlayStation?” “Yes you can play on both of them because it is the weekend…” to be continued.

- Lachie

HEADPHONES The whole school from prep to grade 6 have been counting down for months for the school disco. Finally the day had arrived and everyone was so excited for school to end so they could go home and get ready for the disco. Luckily it was Lachlan’s birthday so my friends and I went to Lachlan’s for pizza before the disco at 7:30pm everyone was arriving to the disco Lachlan, Riley W, Tylah and I were first but we saw the DJ’s disco headphones on the ground so my friends and I decided to be the DJs disco for the night. The room had a huge table of food, a DJ box, awesome lights and a disco ball and streamers and party poppers. It looked fantastic but right when things started to get fun the DJ man came and took over the disco box so we went down to have some food and after the food we had a dance. We all loved the school disco. Some people said it was the best day ever and I was one of them. That will go down in history forever. By Riley. H

FISHING

Jackson is fishing in Lilydale Lake to catch 6 fish. He needs 6 fish to give to his family because his family ran out of money. They have no food and don’t know how to fish.

Jackson was fishing. He got three fish and started to get three more then...

He hooked something big. He tried to lift it up but it was too heavy and his arms were tired. A couple minutes later his arm were not tired and he hooked it again and started lifting and winding. His arm started hurting because he was lifting something really heavy but he did not give up. Jackson was thinking what is it and why is it in the Lilydale Lake? It started going up through the water and the roof emerged, it was yellow. He assumed it was a taxi because of the yellow roof. He kept on winding the line and he was right it was a taxi.

Jackson lifted the taxi out of the water Then he asked someone named James he said it was his taxi. James gave him 300 hundred dollars for saving his taxi. So Jackson got a $25 Rob lox gift card and got a phone.

Harry Potter

And the Chamber of

Nevils

By Olivier P

One day Harry Potter was playing chess.

Nevil came and said, “Hello Harry. Hello Ron do you like me?” “NO” said Harry.

“Fine I will kill you,” said Nevil. “Hahahahaha,” said Harry.

But then that night Harry was walking in the corridor and heard something.

“Harry Potter kill Harry Potter. “Hu doesn't matter.” That night Nevil got cursed and became evil.

Two years later he was contemplating how to kill Harry Potter.

‘Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha I will kill Harry Potter and my annoying voice is gone, yes! I will Destroy

Hogwarts and Potter and his friends.”

But Harry didn't notice that because he was partying a lot. “Are you ready to party?” CRASH! “Huh

Hermione is dead no, with the last Oreo she will be fine.”

When Harry went to bring back Nevil to be good the fight was hard. “I have already killed Hogwarts so

why don't I kill you hahahaha.

“Expecto pronouns.” Harry got Nevil’s book and got a sharp thing and the book shot out blood.

“Ahhhhhhh help, help, heeeelp.”

So Neville was put in Slytherin, he was still evil and his voice was evil but Harry was so happy he threw a

party, “Yay he's gone” said Harry. The end

******* Important *********

Dear Families who are enrolled in OSHC/ Vacation Care and receive the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) for 2018-19, you must confirm your income with Centrelink. This includes CCS paid directly to you and CCS paid on your behalf to a child care provider. Most parents have already confirmed their income, but if you haven’t, do it now. If you don’t confirm your 2018-19 income by 30 June 2020, your CCS will stop from 13 July 2020. To confirm your income with Centrelink, you and your partner need to either:

lodge your tax returns with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) complete an ‘Advise non-lodgement of tax return’ with Centrelink, if you don’t need

to lodge a tax return.

You complete the ‘Advise non-lodgement of tax return’ in your Centrelink online account through myGov or your Express Plus Centrelink mobile app. If you’ve already confirmed your family income for 2018-19, there’s nothing else you need to do. Find out more about Child Care Subsidy on the Services Australia website.
