The Effects Following WW1: Technology

World War 1 had a huge impact on Europe but it’s impact on the US was just as big. During World War 1, the US had mass produced war equipment in our factories and after World War 1, the same factories started to pump out new inventions. These inventions include washing machines, radios, and these new machines had a huge impact on America. For example, the washing machine had saved so much time that people had more time for entertainment, such as the cinemas.

The Effects of WW1: Women’s rights

During and after the war, women were helping out in new ways that were brand new to them such as: working as nurses overseas, working in factories, etc. Most of the jobs the women were taking up were originally dominated by the male workforce, but most of the men were fighting in the war and these positions needed to be filled so that guns, ammunition, and other military equipment could be produced. All of the effort the women put in during the war led to the increase of woman suffrage and the passage of the 19th amendment.

The Effects of WW1: Entertainment

During World War 1, the military used propaganda in the movies, radio, and broadcasts. The new use of propaganda had offered people jobs during and after the war. After the war, the propaganda had gained so much popularity among the public which caused many people to use the radio and movies as a major source of entertainment.
